5.0 out of 5 stars Putting the fun back in rock n'roll
Much like getting a good grade on a test you didn't study for, or finding a four-leaf clover, listening to Marvelous 3 is a pleasant surprise. The music isn't incredibly intense nor is it innovative, but what it lacks in innovation it more than makes us for in jump-up-and-down fun. Songs like "You're So Yesterday", "Freak of the Week", "Write...

Songs like "You're So Yesterday", "Freak of the Week", "Write It On Your Hand" and "Vampires in Love" are good old fashioned power pop gems that conjure up memories of Weezer minus their geekiness. Hey Album is an energetic twelve song romp through bad relationships, yet the stories are told with surprising peppiness and ingenuity. The band brings forth one of the most energetic, fun live shows you'll ever see, and if you're looking for something not so heavy and dreary, Hey Album just might be the peppy tunes you're looking for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Going straight to the top, March 2, 1999

This album is pure brilliance. Never before have I heard music such as this by any band. The lyrics and rhythms of their songs are ingenious, from Freak of the Week and You're So Yesterday to Vampires in Love and Over Your Head. This is one of those albums which, much like their first, you want to leave in your stereo indefinately. Their live shows are beyond description, and must be seen to be believed. These guys are going to be around for quite some time. If you love really good music, check out this CD!

The songs all have their own twist about them. I have gone through every song, and loved them all. I get a new favorite every month. The lyrics were greatly written and the whole album was produced to the fullest.

4.0 out of 5 stars Strong, November 4, 1999

Hey!Album is packed with 12 solid cuts. It is refreshing to see the trend of one..maybe two hit cds with 8 songs of filler, is finally changing. The marvelous3 have a collection of catchy, driving tunes. There is nothing like a 3 member power trio. In addition, the recording quality lends itself to to flavor and feel of the music. I greatly enjoyed this cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Marvelous 3 is one of the best bands out there, September 10, 1999

I first heard the song "Freak of the Week" on the radio. I thought to myself, this is a pretty kewl song. I begged my mom to buy the CD for me and she did. I listened to it over and over and over again. I fell in love with the song "Let me Go" This CD never gets boring. Butch's lyrics are awesome and so is his voice.. I would recomend this CD to anyone who likes alternative music.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is an excellect Album!!, September 4, 1999

Yes, I fall into that 99% of the population who baught this CD for the hit single "Freak of the Week," but I'm not ashamed to admit it! This CD is everything I expected and more! Butch has amazing talent with not only writing, but with recording, producing, and engineering thier first album on Indie label, Deep South Records. He is also a stunning vocalist and guitarist and Jayce's bass playing and Slug's drumming makes this album a must-have in your collection. For people with an open mind and can recognize talent when they hear it, Hey! Album definitely fits the bill!!

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!, June 16, 1999

I personally have been a Marvelous 3 fan for a while. I think that I have listen to each song on Hey! Album at least 500 times(I'm not lying). This is the best cd since sliced bread. From the first second you pop this pop gem into your cd player, you are hooked. You're So Yesterday grabs you by your guts and gives you enough of a sugar rush to last you a lifetime. Other songs like Freak Of The Week, Write It On Your Hand, #27, and Over Your Head will have you jumping and jiving like there's no tomorrow. And songs like Let Me Go, Every Monday, Indie Queen, Mrs. Jackson, and Vampires In Love tug at the heart strings with lyrical word play and emotion. Hey! album is fun for kids of all ages! Want more Marv. 3 fun, go out and get Math And Other Problems, a cd with even more fun. Still licking your chops for more M3, I suggest The Floyds. You can hear the beginings of M3. Go out and get them all, You will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite albums, November 13, 2008
This review is from: Hey Album (Audio CD)
I wish these guys were still together, and I hope someday they regroup, because as awesome as this album is, the live performances of Marvelous 3 (I've seen them 3 times) were a million times better. Every song on this album is great. Literally every one. 'Freak of the Week' infectious. 'Number 27' is my personal favorite. Butch Walker, the lead singer/guitarist, is one of the most talent musicians of our generation. Look him up on YouTube. Now because it's so good I've had this album stolen from me 5 times, and I've replaced it every single time!
Point is, if you want to listen to some infectious rock with powerful riffs, an incredible singer, and lyrics you'll empathize with, get this album. You won't be disappointed.
