Book Description

1994
Hey, Andrew! Teach Me Some Greek! teaches biblical Greek to preschoolers and older students (even adults enjoy it) using a combination of deductive, inductive, and interactive methodology presented in a workbook format. This easy-to-use workbook requires no prior knowledge of Greek. Upon completing this series, your student will have an understanding of koine (biblical) Greek. This understanding will be demonstrated in reading comprehension and writing skills. In addition, your student will have the tools to pursue his or her own study in the Greek New Testament and can combat incorrect theology based on faulty exegesis. An expanding Greek vocabulary extends your student's English vocabulary through an understanding of roots. Finally, the grammatical structure your student will learn will better prepare him or her to study other foreign languages. In the Level One workbook, students learn the twenty-four letters of the Greek alphabet, followed by a short Bible verse. Primary students can start in this level. Older students and adults may want to start in Level Two or Level Three.

This review is from: Hey, Andrew! Teach Me Some Greek! - Level One Workbook (Spiral-bound)
I bought this book for my 2nd grader to learn the Greek alphabet. It is exactly what he needed, a simple introduction to Greek that requires some, but not to much, writing. There is no parent prep time, other than making sure the directions are understood and making flashcards (cut-outs are provided in the back of the book). It teaches letter recognition, their sounds and their names. I have not emphasized Greek phonics as we will use the Greek Alphabetarion by Harvey Bluedorn next year. For an older student this program would be far to simple, but its great for a K-3rd grade easy introduction. My son enjoys the program and has taught his younger brother the letters he has learned.
