5.0 out of 5 stars you gotta check this baby out !!
This is the only song on the Rock Steady album that is good. It's upbeat, very very catchy, and sounds very loving if you're playing it for a friend. Rock Steady isn't a 'bad' cd. I'm starting to like some of the other songs. Hella Good (what the heck does that mean?), Underneath It All, and Don't Let Me Down are ok songs, but soon they will grow on me. Then they will be...

1.0 out of 5 stars When a Good Group Makes a Bad Song
This song is terrible! The lyrics are bad, the music is unpleasant and the whole result is just annoying. I usually like No Doubt alot, and imagine that the lyrics were meant to be clever, but the repetitive chorus is like a toothache. I hope they get back to more songs that are fun and meaningful.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a comeback!, March 4, 2002
This review is from: Hey Baby (Audio CD)
After a significant rest following their previous album 'Return To Saturn' No Doubt have returned with this stunning new single. Although certainly different to the rest of their material, Gwen Stefani's gorgeous vocals and a catchy beat reall do mean that you'll be dancing to this before long. It treads a fine line between being different and for a refined taste only but the single's success just shows how well the band can put together a song.

The inclusion of a remix of 'Ex-Girlfriend' shows the punk leanings that No Doubt had on the last album, although it's a credit that both styles work so well here. The remix gives the angry song a lighter feel.

The video is a just plain fun, filmed almost in a comical way as we see the band go to a party. As ever Gwen remains luminous.

This is the same version released in Australia and this excellent CD also has the colour film clip for the Hey Baby song which is pretty good. It has excellent computer graphics for the menu of the film clip.

The other two songs are pretty good. Hey Baby Homeboy mix is actually pretty good with better background music than the original version. It's pretty much the same except for that.

Ex Girlfriend the Psycho Ex Mix isn't as good as the original version and contains a lot of computer sounds. It's still pretty good though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome back No Doubt, April 16, 2002
This review is from: Hey Baby (Audio CD)
When they first appeared on to the music scene, No Doubt were huge. Then, after their initial smash 'Don't Speak', they faded into obscurity, with only a few minor hits (including the fantastic 'Just A Girl'), which is a shame, considering how talented the group is. Now, they're back with a vengeance, and a complete change in direction. It was a bit of a gamble, but it obviously paid off, because it resulted in a massive No.2 smash. Good luck to them in the future, because judging by this new hit, they're back on form and are certain to be massive this time round.

1.0 out of 5 stars A HUGE LETDOWN, March 18, 2002
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Hey Baby (Audio CD)
This song is soooooooooo horrible. This is No Doubt selling out big time. They know much better than this. I cant belive they did this. They made this song to be popular and sell albums. Last time i checked, that's called selling out. You say the whole point to being a musician is to be popular and make money? That may be so, but when u are a REAL band and make your own music, you don't sell out. Shame on No Doubt. Bite the hand that feeds you and u will get yours in return. No Doubt, you have lost all us So Cal rock/ska fans, and you may never get us back.
