Having worked in the food service industry for years, this film was a great reminder of the good/bad that comes with the job. It's refreshing to have something like this film that shows everything that comes with the job of bartending. It was great to follow just a few people and learn their stories. A must see for anyone in the service industry

Finally someone has documented in film a perfectly distilled summary of what is happening in this industry now: Craft bartending is growing in influence and is here to stay. If you work in any part of the industry it is very important that you understand this. Of course there will always be a place for beer and shot bars but like the disco clubs of the 70's their hayday has passed.

A really well done look into the resurgence of bartending that is currently taking place. It was interesting how the film delved into the lives of a few of these bartenders, it gave me an emotional investment in the film and made me care about what happened to them as the film progressed. Worth the viewing.

A great insight to the world of bartenders and mixologists. Craft cocktail movement is shown up close and personal. Any who are in the service industry or the beverage alcohol biz, this is mandatory viewing.

This is a relevant look at how the resurgence of the cocktail has turned our industry on its head of the past 7-8 years. There are some missteps like using such a narrow field of bartenders and cities as well as not focusing on the craft of making cocktails etc, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars.

If you work in a dive bar(which is great I love them) where you only pour jack & cokes, gin & tonics etc. this might not do anything for you or you might even hate this and see it as pretentious, but you should be able to look at this and realize the more you know the better of a bartender you can be... I'll be the first to admit I HATE the term Mixologist but there is a distinct difference between a bartender who slings Apple Martinis & Cap'n & Cokes( I was one of those guys) to the majority of the bartenders in this film who can tell you who makes the liquor they're pouring and exactly what its made out of. They can also tell you where drinks like the Sazerac/Side Car/Sours and Flips all originated, It's like the difference between a cook and a Chef as they say in the movie but as any really good Chef will tell you I'm just a glorified cook....

This is a great documentary for those who enjoy a quality bar with skilled bartenders. It explores the growing popularity and availability of craft cocktails and shows the lives of a few bartenders who work hard to make those drinks for customers. Instead of dwelling on the pretentiousness that sometimes accompanies all things "craft," Hey Bartender focuses on the hard work and dedication that makes them craft in the real sense of the word.

The look into the personal lives of the bartenders adds an emotional element that makes the documentary compelling, and the perspective on bartending encourages an appreciation of the work that those in the service industry put into helping us have a good time consuming good products.

Ahhh...a nice documentary about bar tenders and cocktails. I do not know much about bars, bar tenders, or cocktails. But the documentary convinced me that bars and bar tenders and drinks are quite interesting. I liked the camera angles and putting stories together so it flows smoothly.

The documentary shows different bar tenders' lives and the philosophies of bar tenders. It covers some history of cocktails.

The documentary can be summarized as bar tenders are cool and cocktails are developing into an art form.
