Hey! Class President Volume 1 (Yaoi)

Let me start by saying this manga had me laughing from page one. This mangaka is REALLY funny, which made this such an enjoyable read. Some quick background on this one; Kokusai is elected class president and he appoints Chiga, an underclassman, as his vice president. Even though Chiga is Kokusai's underclassman, Chiga looks down on Kokusai as a little slow, whereas Kokusai gets frequently frustrated that Chiga is so popular, good looking and experienced. What makes this story so funny is that Kokusai is a walking target for molestation and is frequently felt up by anyone that gets within his pheromone range. Chiga literally can't turn his back on him for a second. Seeing that Kokusai keeps falling into the wrong hands, Chiga makes it his mission to protect Kokusai at all costs but can he avoid falling into the same trap as Kokusai's molesters?

Ok, so lets get down to the nitty gritty, shall we? What a manga! Kaori Monchi is fabulous at telling a funny story. Not only is she good at writing humor, she's even better at illustrating it. I laughed all the way through the story. What else is she good at? Building up the sexual tension. She didn't jump into the wham, bam, thank you ma'am but built it up slowly throughout the story and their first intimate moments aren't drawn explicitly but they were so erotic it didn't matter. The funniest thing about the sex is that there is no frontal nudity but there is, um, "backal" nudity (ha! I just made up a word). Yes, you see his backend getting the work over. I'm not sure why one and not the other but the sex scenes are still HOT (1 solo masturbation scene, 1 masturbation scene with "help", and 1 sex scene).

The book does come with one double sided color page (illustration on the front, table of contents on the back). The only problem I really had with this one is either the way it was originally written or the subsequent translation. There were quite a few areas that even upon a reread, just didn't make sense. It didn't affect following the actual story, it just made for a confusing read at times. The plot is interesting even though the seme protecting the uke story element isn't anything new. There are other elements to the story that make it interesting (like who Kokusai's stalker really is?). Character wise, it is a school based story so the characters aren't exactly original but I like that the uke is the older of the two and I still found the two characters very likable and intriguing. The background characters got a little confusing to me and I think I'm going to have to reread this one again before reading volume 2 so I get them all straight.

Overall, I loved this title. The sex is hot, the buildup is fantastic and it is funny to boot. My recommendation is to buy it and buy it now (and preorder volume 2!).

This manga was funny and sexy at the same time. I'm glad that there will be a further volume to it. I thought it was worth the price!!

I have read all her mangas in Japanese and she is now one of my best BL manga creater, and
this is one of my most favorite.

Though the art did not attract me at first as recent yaoi art has been so cool and beautiful(lol),
her directorial technique of the characters' psychological descriptions is amazing...
also, the sex scences in her mangas are studied so well to show how it can be very erotic...(this is what Kaori Monchi have mentioned before (ww))

Tha final scene of Kaga and Kokusai is unbelievabaly so hot, funny and Moe\./. Recommend you to read to the end!

This is a must buy for yaoi fans, the art style is amazing and the sex scenes leave you hot and bothered. So if I were you I'd read this at home. ^_^ Monshi definitely knows how to weave a tantalizingly yummy story, which is why I highly suggest buying this. It's definitely worth the money, it's not something you could read on mangafox with out buying it.

WHen I first heard about Hey! Class President it was from the two episode OVA they made, and I knew I had to read the manga! It's funny, sweet all that good stuff that should be in a yaoi. I'm looking know for the other volumes, can
t wait to see what happens next!!!

This book didn't hold my interest. If I had alredy brought vol 2 I wouldn't.
