Shoo Rayner has written and illustrated over 150 children's books. He writes series readers for newly confident readers and his books are particularly loved by boys. I use this book with children who have not been exposed to books at home. The rhymes, the bright colors, and the interactive lift-the-flap activities never fail to get them interested. I would highly recommend it to teachers and parents with children who don't seem that interested in books.
