It's 'hey diddle diddle' with a difference: Bobcat plays the fiddle and a host of Southwestern-native animals join in. Liz Conrad's drawings are outstanding and lively additions to a simple series of easy rhymes and descriptions, making this a top recommendation for parents who tire of the usual traditional themes. Hey Diddle Diddle is ideal for family and community library preschool board book collections.

Delightful!,

Hey Diddle Diddle by Theresa Howell is a new take on the popular nursery rhyme. In this rhyming version, the desert critters dance and play music by the light of the moon.
This is an early reader board book that "rocks!" Young children will have a good time acting out the words to the story as it is read to them. The illustrations, by Liz Conrad, are big, bold and colorful dancing and singing animals that will draw the children into the story. I found myself smiling as I read it. Armchair Interviews says: If you have a young child who loves rhymes and bounces to music, Hey Diddle Diddle is perfect. |
