5.0 out of 5 stars A very good cookbook for the entire family, November 11, 2002

This is the only cookbook that my kids really like. All the recipies that I have tried have been recieved with no gags or negative comments. I bought this cookbook years ago, when it first came out. The recipies are heathly, yet flavorful. My kids even like the veggie dishes. They love the frankies in a blanket and the turkey meatballs. None of the recipies take very long to prepare and are easy to make ahead and freeze. Susan Powter knows what kids like!

5.0 out of 5 stars Realistic Low fat recipes!, February 27, 2006
This review is from: Hey Mom! I'm Hungry!: Great-Tasting, Low-Fat, Easy Recipes to Feed Your Family (Plastic Comb)
I love the recipes in this book. They are easy and use ingredients that everybody has.. without expecting you to eat tofu and weird stuff you've never heard of. My husband and kids love the recipes that I've tried so far. Susan shows how to make very tasty and filling meals without the fat. Nobody would ever know the difference! I highly recommend this book.

Susan is so awesome. Her recipes are easy and I enjoy them too.
I am very glad I bought this book as it can be very hard to eat and cook low fat meals. I highly recomend this book for anyone looking to cook low fat quality food for their kids!

5.0 out of 5 stars Susan Powter Rocks!, January 18, 2007

I highly recommend any products by Susan Powter, even though she is a bit crazy (your children under 14 or so do not need to read some of them becasue she is a bit crass) but her advice is timeless, not faddish and right on. Great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Green Pea Dip & Garlic, January 14, 2011

The cost of this book was worth this one recipe alone. Green Peas and Garlic dip instead of Avocado dip. Once I discovered making dips out of soft vegetables, new foods came out of my kitchen and onto my diet plans. This book did it for me. Easy to read---like all of her books.

If you are looking for a book to help you design healthy meals for kids, this is it. I have tried several recipes and they have been a hit. We had one miss, the macaroni and cheese, but all the other recipes have been something my kids love. An unexpected plus is that my kids see the kids on the cover and are willing to try things they would never eat because I tell them that the kids on that cover love the recipes. Try the chocolate banana bread, it is to die for. What I love about this book is that it is very down to earth - and doesn't expect you to make a craft project out of every recipe just because it is for kids. Thanks Susan!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazed me and my toddler!, August 1, 2006

I have a super picky 2-year-old. Potatoes are her only veggie. Thus I ordered this book. So far I have tried two recipes that, quite frankly, did not sound appealing to me at all. But she devoured them! Wow! (I tried them and like them myself, too.)

I would highly recommend this book to anyone seeking new ways to make healthy foods for picky eaters.

Start with the Wafflewiches! They are a real winner!
