The dynamic Danish duo return in top, feel-good form, mashing-up their Mamas & the Papas-meets-Sugarhill Gang sound with the manic, party energy that they're known for. The sweet sounding `60s pop, `70s funk and `80s hip-hop inspired album features notable guest artists including Cindy Wilson and Kate Pierson of the B-52's, Le Tigre, `60s Motown girl group the Velvelettes plus the legendary Spooner Oldham.
Junior Senior first brought their explosive energy to the world with their debut D-D-Don't Don't Stop the Beat. Fueled by the global smash "Move Your Feet," the band quickly found both commercial success and critical acclaim, from dance clubs and roller rinks to sports stadiums. With Hey Hey My My Yo Yo Junior Senior returns with an even more hook-filled yet sophisticated and consistent album.

Infectious. (In a good way!),

Flat out joyful music. I can't stop listening to it. I rode the "Move Your Feet" wave a few years back, and sort of figured that was it, but the new stuff is catchier and deeper. The first sign came when "Itch U Can't Skratch" started showing up on mp3 blogs about a year ago. I kept reading that it was part of a new CD, but, man, did it take forever for the CD to show up!
These days, I'm stuck on "Take My Time," from the funky bass line to the bouncy synth, to the full-on dance sound that kicks in at the refrain, to the modulation at the end. 3:49 of pop genius.

One of The Best Albums Ever... Really. No Kidding.,

If you've never heard of Junior Senior and are somehow reading this review, then today is your lucky day. Take my advice and buy this (see if you can find the extended album tho' cos it's worth the extra bread). You will be so very glad you did.
I liked the first Junior Senior album a whole bunch. It was a fine album, but perhaps a little too "happy-go-lucky". But when I heard this a few years back I couldn't believe it. Not a track on it that is even close to bad. Three years later and I still listen to this all the freaking time. I have yet to meet anybody that doesn't count this as one of their all-time favorites. Even the "sad-rock-only-hipster-girls" I know love this. If you have a soul, and like smiling then this is for you. If you listen to this and don't smile then, there is honestly something wrong with you. If you are a lover of music but think that this going to be too "sweet" for you, you'd be wrong. Each track is laced with so much solid musical goodness that you can't help but like it. This is a solid collection of the BEST that dance, rock and hip-hop have to offer the world. Take all of the good things about good music and lay em down back to back - and "Viola!" you've got Hey Hey My My Yo Yo. There is literally nothing wrong with this album. I say that about few things in this world, but I can't say anything bad about this. Almost 100% perfect. Junior Senior deserve much more credit then they get for figuring out how to put a good day in your head via headphones.

Extremely danceable, but nothing brilliant,
By Yoshi "Boo Boo Johnson" (Yoshi's Island) - See all my reviews

Let's face it-- Junior Senior is never going to make a mind-blowing, epic, musically-genius album. That being said, this is still a fun CD to blast in your car.
The good songs are amazing-- "Take My Time", "Can I Get Get Get", and "Ur A Girl" are definitely the standout tracks. The mediocre songs are still good, but are somewhat tedious (like "I Like Music" and "Itch U Can't Skratch"). Although this CD is a LOT of fun, and I recommend it to people who like dance-y, indie music, the novelty does wear off eventually.
