4.0 out of 5 stars Tickles my Funny Bone
Since comedy is pretty subjective, I would not expect to like every selection of a "greatest hits" collection like this, but considering that, I enjoy this 2-CD set quite a lot. Out of 33 selections, there are just 3 that totally fall flat for me, and another 3 or so that are pretty funny but are annoying in some way, such as the loud and manic deliveries of Sam Kinison...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great comedians, but material could have been better
Just what the title says. I like the album and it was cheap enough, but my expectations were too high when I saw who was on the album. I mean, these guys and gals are really funny, but for some reason or other, the material picked wasn't all that great.

Since comedy is pretty subjective, I would not expect to like every selection of a "greatest hits" collection like this, but considering that, I enjoy this 2-CD set quite a lot. Out of 33 selections, there are just 3 that totally fall flat for me, and another 3 or so that are pretty funny but are annoying in some way, such as the loud and manic deliveries of Sam Kinison and Robin Williams. I also did not like "The Moose" with Woody Allen (although I'm a fan of him) because it in effect promotes hunting, but Ellen Degeneres gets him back with her denunciation of it in her humorous "Camping and Hunting" bit. Maybe I should note that about half of these tracks contain profanity and raunchiness, in case you're looking for that. To me, enjoying 26 out of 33 selections on these 2 CDs is a good batting average. Also, there is included a very nice 14-page booklet that gives background on these comedians. I should note that I'm not enough of a comedy connoisseur to say whether these selections are representative of "the best" of most of these people, but anyway, I get a lot of laughs out of HEY, THAT'S FUNNY.
