I've replaced the batteries in two of my APC UPS devices and both have worked.
I replaced my APC Back-UPS 500 battery a few months ago and have had a few power cuts since then and it hasn't failed yet.

I also replaced the battery in an APC Back-UPS CS a few weeks ago and that has also kept the PC running during a couple of power cuts so far.

I haven't used it with monitoring software so I don't know if it gives the correct information on the remaining battery life.

Update Jan 2008:
It's been almost two years since I replaced my batteries and they're still working even after many power outages.

Update October 2009:
Both batteries are still working without problems more than three years after I purchased them.

Update September 2011:
One of the batteries is pretty much dead about 5 years after installing it.

It only keeps the PC up for a couple of minutes before the UPS shuts off.

This is sold as a RBC2 battery but the battery from my APC Backups 500 has F2 terminals which are larger than the F1 terminals on the battery I received. Although I could crimp the terminals to get a sufficiently tight connection, I shouldn't have to do that for a battery that is supposed to be an equivalent battery.

Battery arrived quickly and works great. The only problem that I see is that they don't provide an evelope for the old battery.

I ordered two of these to replace the failed ones. They were exactly as described and worked perfectly. This was definitely more cost-effective than replacing the UPS.

Bought in Jan 2005; started getting low battery warnings 3 Years latter (Jan 2008)

Stopped working completely (to the point the APC would not power on with this battery) in Sep 2008.

A little disappointed in that other OEM batteries seem to go closer to 5 years.

I have several APC UPS units; multiple computers, DVRs and cable modem. The batteries last about 3 years and it is much cheaper to replace the batteries than to buy new units. I have bought batteries from a couple different sources. I thought my experience on Amazon should be noted.

APC UPS units have F2 connectors that mate with the F2 terminals that are on the batteries from APC. Although you can buy replacement batteries that are "Guaranteed to meet or exceed original specifications" and/or "100% OEM compatible", you may get a generic battery with smaller F1 terminals instead of F2 terminals. Most listings for replacement batteries do not list the terminal size (one would think that a replacement battery would be the same physical size with the same size terminals in the same location as the original battery).

I just bought RBC2 & RBC46 replacement batteries from Battery Supersite and they cam with F1 terminals.

When I contacted Battery Supersite, they responded with "When there are multiple sellers for a listing we don't always have control over the information posted, I apologize if any information was missing. The best way to make sure you are getting a battery with F2 terminals is to find which battery you need and purchase it by model number. When you have the model number you can find the battery listed in the item title and it should state F1 or F2 terminals."

They also offered me free terminal adapters that slide over the existing terminals and convert them from F1 to F2 which they sent right away.

BTW, I placed my order at about 2AM Monday and I got the batteries two days later on Wednesday. Battery Supersite does ship fast!

You get what you pay for. The battery failed in my APC UPS CS500 after two days. I first had an "overload" warning and then a "replace battery" warning. I have received no response to my customer service inquiry. I'm go to bite the bullet and buy a genuine APC UPS battery.

I was a little nervous about ordering these batteries online as I have been burned before. I received the batteries and they fit perfectly into my ups's and they have been performing perfectly.

Got it fast and its working perfectly so far. Ill let you know if I have any problems later. I'm glad I could find it here at Amazon.

I bought this product to replace the original battery in my UPS and it has been working quite well for the past 3 months now. No complaints thus far.
