1 of the best R&B groups of the 90's,

... What's that in America? Junior High? I'd heard the classics "I like the way" and "Just another girlfriend" off the first album even though it was hard to come by... My girlfriends at the time and I were always talkin', hummin' and impromptu singin' the tunes. Oh Tony! Such a cutie! It was easy enough to have a crush on him! That's the essential essence of Hi-Five's music-that crush. And those were the lyrics that said it all. If you had a crush, those would be the words you wish were played for you.Anyway, I have all the albums..., So when there was a greatest hits album with never before heard songs on it you know I had to get it. ... This is a great album for those uninitiated and who want a taste of undisputedly one of the best R&B groups of the early 90's. Forget that boy band ...[stuff] of today, this is it! Even though I'm not a teenager anymore I still love these songs. They're classic for all time. Buy all the albums, all the songs are good!

More like Fab Five!,

This collection is completely off the chain! In my books it still ranks as the number one high school crush song book. Remember getting your grind on to "I Can't Wait Another Minute" at those high school dances! I know you feel me. If you ain't copped this, you're missing the boat completely.

Hi-Five's greatest hits are truly great,

This CD has all of the hits and meant to be hits from the popular group. "I Like The Way (The Kissing Game)" and "She's Playing Hard To Get" are among my favorites and the songs that made them stars. Although the CD is a nice complitiation the new songs don't click with their original material and I think it was a bit too early for a greatest hits although it is a nice collection.

A Talent Lost Way Too Soon!,

I was very surprised and saddened to hear about the death of Hi-Five's lead singer Tony Thompson on June 1, 2007. I always thought he was a very talented young singer who probably should have been more well-known than he apparently was. Hi-Five only made 3 albums in the early 90's. Tony Thompson releases his one and only solo cd called "Sexsational" in 1995. This greatest hits cd was released in 1994. The producers who they worked with through those years included here: Teddy Riley, A young R. Kelly, JOE & Keith Miller, Timmy Allen, Eric Foster White, and Art & Rhythm. Riley produced their first #1 single "I Like The Way (The Kissing Game) in 1990. My personal favorites are: She's Playing Hard To Get, Quality Time, Never Should Have Let You Go, Unconditional Love, and non-single She Said. The reason I'm reviewing this Hi-Five instead of other ones, is because it includes 3 new songs (at the time) that I believe few have probably heard. I don't believe any of these songs were released as singles, and I can't recall ever hearing them on the radio or ever seeing a video for them. The 3 songs are: Birthday Girl, What Are You Doing Tonight, and That Was Then, This Is Now. I consider these 3 songs to be maybe the strongest songs Hi-Five ever made, especially What Are You Doing Tonight, which is my favorite among the 3, and one of my favorites period. Unfortunately the group lost a few members after their 2nd cd was released. One left for spiritual reasons I believe, while the other was injured in a serious automobile accident. The group added 2 new members to replace them, but the group was never quite the same, even though the material was probably even better. 7 hit singles over the mere span of 3 years in quite remarkable. Other than the teenage girls that screamed for them and loved them at the time, the group didn't experience the kind of success I thought worthy of them, Tony Thompson again in particular. Tony died way too young, and I always thought he had a chance to return when the time was right. Unfortunately that isn't gonna happen now. Tony may no longer be with us, but his music and videos will live on. Praise to Hi-Five! R.I.P Tony Thompson!"She said Tony, no one's gonna love like I do. Think I believed her? Well I did! Yo she even left without even calling man, she just dogged me out....Yo, that's on the strength" - my favorite Tony line- from Hi-Five's "She Said"

i love this album. the pop cheese that came out of these dudes in the early 90's was fun and invigorating. 'never should have let u go' and 'unconditional love' are the best songs. the fast ones are kinda weak, but these guys should have stayed together. im sad that the lead singer thought he was all that and bounced, but i still really enjoy the songs on this album to this day baby! when u hear the songs u will smile and get your happy fluid! buy it!

Average but Catchy,

Hi-Five had some jams such as I Like The Way,She's Playing Hard To Get,&I Just Can't Handly it.alot of that was Attribute to New Jack Swing King Teddy Riley.who Wrote&Produced those Jams.Hi-Five was a Average Group at best but had some Jams. But N-Sync,Backstreet Boys,98 Degrees, and those other Jokes Should Listen to How doing Real New Jack.cuz on just the above Mentioned Songs Alone these Wack Boy Bands Have Nothing to Match but their Shade.
