come here to hear an overlooked trio session, July 5, 2006

The full contents of this album and Jaki's other Prestige/New Jazz trio session of the time ("Here's Jaki") can be found on an old two-fer LP that is well worth seeking out. If you can't find it, buy both these individual discs. You will be blown away; these are two of the greatest piano trio records of the early 60s. As far as his accomplices on these records, I'm sure you know all about Ron Carter and Roy Haynes, and probably even Pete LaRoca. But if you haven't heard, Jaki's the man. He can do it all. Knows when to hold 'em, knows when to fold 'em. God bless you Mr. Byard.
