This game surprised me!
Because it's labelled as a kids game, I didn't think I'd enjoy it very much. I had only bought it because I am a fan of Hamtaro. At first I wasn't surprised, and it wasn't very fun, but as the game difficulty increased, I found myself enjoying it more and more until I couldn't stop playing it! This game is fun for me, my 5 year old sister, and my 22 year old brother! We all love it! Natsume did a wonderful job making this game. Every little detail is thought out, and there are so many little secrets in the game to uncover! if I had to point out something bad about the game...I couldn't! It's just so wonderful, creative, cute, and FUN!! I've recommended this game to all my friends, and I've let them play it, and they all love it! I encourage you to buy this game, you won't regret it!

Bought this based on reviews on Amazon and it is a great game for our son on the autism spectrum, who also loves the Hamtaro anime. Easy to play but provides enough challenges to keep him engaged.

I'm a teenager who loves Hamtaro. Honestly, ever since I was little I couldn't get enough of the Hamtaro gang.
When I first started to play this game, I found out quickly that it was designed for younger children, probably between the ages of 5 and 11. However, my love of Hamtaro made this game enjoyable. The games are fun, although; it does get mildly repetitive after awhile. I wouldn't recommend this game for long-term use, but it is fun and easy enough for kids of a younger generation and it has enough hamster cuteness in it to satisfy any major Hamtaro fan.

Hi! Hamtaro Ham-Ham Challenge. Natsume's game skews much younger than Nintendo's adventures did, so unless you're below the age of 10 you're probably not going to get nearly as much enjoyment out of this one than you might've in past Hamtaro titles. That said, Natsume's game nails its target age group with some enjoyable mini-games and sandbox-style entertainment, so if you've found yourself asking "what's good for younger kids?" this would be a really good recommendation.
Even though Natsume's hosting the publishing duties for this Hamtaro product, the game itself has been developed by the same studio that's worked on the Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo DS adventures (the latter being ones only available in Japan): Alphadream, probably best known for its work on the Mario & Luigi series on Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS. The team hasn't lost its edge for producing sickeningly sweet Hamtaro games, as Hi! Hamtaro Ham-Ham Challenge just oozes with adorability. Swoon as Hamtaro runs on his spinning exercise wheel. Feel your heart sing as Hamtaro plops down on his butt to munch on nummy sunflower seeds. Squeal in delight as Hamtaro takes a dump in a corner pile of wood shavings. Nope, not kidding. Not kidding at all. Once the kids get their kicks poking Hamtaro and sending him around the safety of his cage, they can start on the game's main quest for stickers by tapping on the clear plastic tube that'll send Hamtaro to the outside world where his friends are waiting for him. Each of the Ham-Hams have their own challenge to complete, and each use the touch-screen in a variety of ways. There are twelve different types of mini-games to compete, and once you experience them on their lowest default setting you'll realize just how young this game truly skews: in the "numbers" puzzle, for example, you have to count how many of a specific item is displayed on the screen, and then write that number on the screen below. But wait, that number is already faintly etched into the "paper," so it's just a matter of tracing that number to get credit for the answer. At the very least it's teaching numbers... The games get harder but not so much "challenging." It's more "stuff to do for the very young." There's a little bit of reading involved so your child will have to recognize the words "red" or "green" when faced with color challenges, or have the ability to follow directions because some rules might not be completely clear right from the start. There is a very cool "parent" option in the main game where the player can earn presents simply by showing their progress to their parent or guardian-type person. Those who get access to the parent controls can see how long the kid's been playing and what sort of progress they've made in that amount of time. When the parent hands back the system, the player will have a present waiting for them: an additional set of "stickers" for the game's photo album. A nice little incentive.

Hello I'm an autistic women adult gamer who 22 year's old.
This is my review for Hi! Hamtaro: Ham Ham Challenge for Nintendo DS. Well to start off I like Hamtaro but just recently started playing the hamtaro games for ds only so far & to clarify one misconception about this game I have Tottoko: Hamtaro: Nazo Nazo Q ds (jap ds game) tottoko hamtaro nazo nazo q & Hamtaro: Ham Ham Challenge are not the same games I have both games can't read a word of jap but did make it to level 37 in hamtaro nazo nazo q ds THEY ARE NOT THE SAME DS GAME! & to be quite honest Hamtaro: Ham Ham Challenge ds is more fun for me to play anyway's. Hamtaro Nazo Nazo Q ds just ask's you ton's of question's in jap as mutiple choice question's. Anyway's I just wanted to clear up that misconception now on with the rest of the review. My own personal thought's on Hamtaro: Ham Ham Challenge ds is it's an extremely fun game & very addicting. I love all the mini games. The coloring one & block puzzle one are my favorites & is fun for both adult's & children alike. Buy this game you'll enjoy it. I know I do. It stay's in my dsi carrying case when I go out somewhere I just pop it in my dsi & start playing. Happy Gaming everyone!

My 5-year old cousin has this game, and it is one of her favorites. It teaches her some things and the graphics & hamsters are irresistibly cute. This game is a mixture between learning game, pet simulation, collections, and cartoon. With activities that work a young child's brain, and a sort of pet-game in there as well, any little girl should enjoy this game. :)

I really enjoy the touch screen gameplay on the DS system (I have a DSi) and I did enjoy the Hamtaro cartoon a while back. Im 26, and I love video games, and now I have them with me everywhere I go. This Hamtaro game is rather easy and geared towards little kids, but thats what makes it fun for me. I like easy video games that dont get aggravating, so this one has to be on my top 10 list of DS games so far, since its very easy.
