5.0 out of 5 stars Great early compilation, May 26, 2003
This review is from: Hi-De-Ho Man: 1930-1933 (Audio CD)
This CD is an excellent compilation of Cab's early hits, including the classic Minnie the Moocher (the original version). Compared to the later compilation, "Are You Hep to the Jive?", this is a somewhat mellower Cab, but he still cooks. Probably the most amazing thing about this CD is the low price, for a CD with more than an hour of music on it. If you are a serious Calloway fan, however, you may want to spend the extra money for the JSP box set.

The only negative thing about this CD is that the sound quality is mediocre on a few tracks, but then we're talking about some pretty old recordings, so I'll still give it five stars. This is one CD that you'll be playing again and again.
