These things are built like tanks, work great and can be used as a comealong if you get stuck and have no winch. you can use it for other things as well.. they are very very handy to have, especially if you have bigger tires and go off the beaten path. Also I'd recommend a base or a small plank of wood with nails to sit the jack inside of a little" nail footprint" for a solid base on weird or soft ground for you DIY peeps.
Also a hi lift jack handle strap.

Don't forget to occasionally clean and oil it so that it stays good. Mine is in the elements on my jeep year round. I take and oil it and clean it about twice a year.

Also I got a cable lock to lock to my jeep as my first one got taken.

Use my on my 2000 f-250 SD 4x4 that is lifted 3 inches. This jack has no problem doing the job. You want a real jack then this is the one for you.

The only positive for this jack is that is it heavy duty and sturdy. I have no doubt I will be able to use it for years to come once I address other issues with it.

The negatives:
- Large chunks of black paint flaked off of this jack during just one practice use (jacking a truck up a few inches keeping all four wheels still on the ground). If this is a powder coat paint job, it's the worst I've ever seen. There's really no reason why large strips of paint should be flaking off with almost no effort (see photos). I was sad that an American company would even let my jack out the door.

- Jacking down for the first time caused an unexpected load drop. The jack seemed to climb down two pin levels just fine but the third stroke caused the jack to drop my truck and kick out unexpectedly (way more than 150 lbs of load on it). I read the directions, watched the videos and was careful to follow the safety recommendations. Incidentally, after flaking more paint off I tried it again and the jack didn't drop the load or kick out the second time around. I guess this is a good reason to practice with a safe load to ensure your jack is functioning properly - however, from a point of quality that should have already been done by the manufacturer.

- A minor point. The top clevis was out of place on my jack when I received it. This prevented me from putting the rubber handle holder on it. Not a big deal - I ended up loosening the bolt and resetting the clevis into the correct position.

what can I say, its a hi-lift. it works, its tough, and you don't have to maintain it a whole lot, or at all. the thing I like about it is that it ratchets up and then ratchets back down when you are done, unlike some other companies off-road jacks that ratchet up and then just release and slam down when you want to lower the vehicle, not safe at all, pay a little more and get the high-lift, skip the other cheap brands.

Love the 48" Hi-Lift jack. I keep it oiled and keep it in the Jeep during the winter. Has got me out of a jam many times. I also use it as a winch. Great product at a great price!

Don't get stuck out on the trail with no way to remove a blown tire. If you have any additional suspension lift on your rig, then most likely your stock OEM tire jack is not going to work. I reccomend you get the ORD Off-Road base to go with this. The foot of the jack is not very big and if you are not on concrete you could easily run the jack into the ground.

So I bought a Hi-lift for myself some years ago, it was stolen from my porch on delivery, ordered another, gave it to my son-in law, bought another, gave it to my son, bought another, gave it to my favorite grown up Eagle Scout and now need one for myself. Stuck Jimmie? get the High Lift. Boat trailer dropped below the rinky-dink nose jack's cap[abilities? Get the Hi-Lift. A steel post sunk in concrete in the yard that needs removed? The Hi-Lift might need some help but so did the back hoe although the two together worked out well.

They are heavy and awkward to store while almost impossible for use with boat trailers but I really think all vehicles and trailers should be designed to carry and use Hi-Lifts. But it takes some doing to hoist my Harley...
