Start the zipper FIRST and run the zipper up an inch or so.
Then remove the base of the jack by removing the pin.
Slide the cover over the bottom of the jack (with the base removed) and finish zipping the cover closed.
Go back and re-install the base plate and pin.
Hopefully, after the cover is on for a while it will stretch enough to be able to put on and take off without having to remove the base plate... removing the base plate only takes a minute so it is not all that bad. Better than tearing the cover.
Note that I have the 60 inch tall model... I do not think that makes a difference.
But the initial installation was (for me) too much trouble without taking the minute to remove the base.
-Update 1 year later - this hi-lift jack cover is completely faded and started ripping near the zippers. I replaced this lift cover with a handmade one at jackcovers dot com for a few bucks more than this jack cover. It is a very high quality jack cover for your hi-lift needs! Marine grade neoprene and material doesn't fade! Check them out
I liked the protection it offered, but whenever dust or dirt got under the cover it stayed there. This does not completely seal the hi lift. This neoprene is also very susceptible to the sun. I live in the Southwest and I am guessing this is why it faded so quickly.

Seems to be made fairly well. Was able to install really. If you've ever zipped a tight pair of pants you can zip this up too. Read morePublished 1 month ago by J. Reece
Quality was below average, zipper faulty, when installed it looked great and looked like it would have protected the mechanics of hilift jack. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Amazon Customer
