Great jack, but shame on Hi-Lift for its shipping,

Simple, strong, brilliant design and what seems like an unstable base actually makes it easy on your equipment because the jack leans in to lift the load rather than pulling the load to it. It makes sense in action. It needs oiling right out of the box so don't forget to do that. I use it to lift a big ZTR mower deck that weighs 750-lbs., so I inserted a half-inch bolt and nut where I start lifting on that mower to keep the large runner from dropping the last 13 inches when lowering the load. If you ever need any work done on it, keep your receipt, as Hi-Lift requires proof-of-purchase within its 1-year warranty._______________________ NOTE ON SHIPPING: SHAME ON YOU, HI-LIFT, AND YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. You shipped this great jack in a big box without any packing material via UPS and they took up your challenge. Both UPS and FedEx are notorious anymore for destroying more goods than they deliver, and without any packaging protection, UPS not only tore off half the box, but managed to tear chunks off the powdercoat. The clevis was slightly rusted from where they must have left it in a puddle of water or fuel. I don't understand what so many companies are thinking these days that packaging should be nonexistent.

I previously owned a cast steel trail jack made by another manufacturer. My previous jack was less expensive, but there is no question even from first sight...the Hi-Lift X-Treme is a superior product!I bought the 48" model and it fits perfectly on the roll cage in the rear cargo area of my 2011 Rubicon. I have great confidence that this product will serve me well for many years.

I am a Army guy at Fort Bragg, NC (for another 691 days!) and have discovered that it is much easier to buy your own gear to use and keep it when you are done. I purchased this jack for self-recovery when we go to the field and also to use with my Jeep Cherokee. The first day I got it I took it to the motorpool and attempted to lift the front end of an M923 5-ton and that truck is WAY too heavy for this jack (I could probably winch it out of the mud but can't lift the front end). I then put it under the back end of a Hummvee and proceeded to lift it off the ground no problem. I could probably pick the truck off the ground if I had a way to suspend it! Then I took my jack home and used it to pull a 6-inch tree trunk out of the ground in my back yard. Nice. Very nice. This jack is worth every cent I paid for it and will out live me and my grand children. I highly recommend this jack to anyone who wants the top-end in equipment.

Jack works great, but the finish rusts right away,

A Hi-lift jack is a must for every off-roader. They are a life saver when your stuck and there are no trees around to winch from. The lifting action is very smooth and the direction switching mechanism works well. I like the adjustable removable clamping mechanism as well, although I haven't gotten the chance to use it. My only disappointment is that I had it outside in a couple of rain storms and the bar is already starting to rust in about every hole. I understand that there is a lot of weight on the contact points as it lifts and there may not be a way around the rusting. I would've liked to see the finish last longer, especially on this extreme that touted it's finish. All in all I am happy though

Massive!,

Hi-Lift Jacks are without comparison the best product in the market. This is the second one I buy.I think I over did it with this one. This thing is big and heavy. I am about 6 feet tall and it is difficult for me to maneuver this instrument. I could have done well with the simpler version or smaller size. I use it for a 2009 Land Cruiser. As I said, product is good but massive, something to think about when you are in deep trouble.

I highly recommend this to anyone who does any off roading, and for any truck. the jack is the easiest to use and gives you the height that others will or can not. I bought it for me 2011 Polaris Ranger Crew and have the Tire attachment, the bumber attachment, the off road base and the protective cover bag. there is no better jack out there!

I needed some posts ripped up around the house, so I decided to buy a quality tool. I ripped up a few 4x4 posts that were about 3ft in the ground (I had no clue they were that deep) with no problem. Just wrap some chain around the post, secure the chain with a bolt and nut, then let the jack do its thing. I sure am glad I bought the 60" model instead of a 48" model. It worked so well, I decided to rip up a few shrubs that I didn't like. I'd say my money was well spent on a quality tool.

Quality and finish is great. Exactly what Hi-Lift is known for. Functionality is what you would expect. Four stars due to the required crap you need but is not included like the standard non-locking mounts which run at least half the price of the jack themselves which do nothing other than allow you to bring along your portable jack.

Just get one for your rig now!,

Don't even bother with the generic knock off made in China crap. Buy one of these and be done. 48" works for Jeeps and smaller rigs, get the 60" for anything lifted or full size. The gunmetal gray on the X-Treme version even looks cool. Add some pipe insulation to the pipe and mount it somewhere. This could be used as a weapon if need be. Very heavy, durable and might save your life. Versatile tool that can be used to winch, pull, or clamp as well as lift. If you have an older vehicle get the bumper adapter too. This will minimize the scratches on your bumper if you should use it. Add a few pieces of wood, some gloves, tow strap and clevis and you are ready for off-roading. Just don't mount this thing to your bumper, you all look like fools for doing that. (You know who you are.)
