Go to the Hi-Lift web site ([...]) and look up the LR-200 LocRac Jack Mounting System. You'll see what you are really getting. I figured this out before I ordered and what I received is what I expected. Hopefully Amazon corrected the image by now - I reported it on 5/1/2010. As for the Loc-Rac, there are instructions on the back of the packaging, though they are very generic. It didn't mount right up to my 2009 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab 4x4. I had to add a 1.5" spacer between the hinged part of the lock and the truck bed. The problem is that the bed of the truck is recessed halfway down the length of the bed where the hinged piece of the latch is supposed to mount. Adding a spacer wasn't hard, but I had to buy some 1.5" slotted square tubing to make it work. Even though I only needed a 4" piece of tubing, I had to spend $20 at a local home improvement store for a 48" piece. I also had to purchase a few 5/16" bolts and nuts to mount the square tubing, but that cost only $2.00. Lastly, the lock they send with the package looks like a lock you would find on cheap luggage. Deciding not to protect a $70+ jack with a 70 cent lock, I went to a local auto parts store and purchased a coupler lock (used for trailers) for $15.00, meaning my install cost was $37+tax, excluding the cost of the Loc-Rac. In case you are curious, a 60" Hi-Lift will mount inside the bed of a 2009 Silverado Crew Cab short bed truck.

If you want to mount a jack in the bed of your truck, this product does it very well. As mentioned in other reviews, the lock is very cheap, however it is better than nothing and if you need strong security the lock can easily be replaced with a better one. I would recommend mounting it so as the hook for the jack foot is up against the cab and the hinged portion is mounted in the middle of the bed rail. This set up has worked well for me for the past two years.

I received this Loc-Rac bracketry with the purchase of a new Hi-Lift jack and several other accessories, which were all fine. However, the mounting "system" consists of a wheeze-bag padlock from a jewelry box or a doll-house, coupled with a hinged "keeper"-style retention bracket and a hook-type hanging bracket. It could be defeated in three seconds by a child, by simply lifting up on the supported (but not restrained) end of the jack and twisting the bracket completely off the truck or other mounting substrate, since the length of the jack provides a super-mechanical advantage over the thin-gauge bracket material. I estimate that it would take less than five pounds force over the lever arm (length of the jack itself) to overcome the Loc-Rac and remove the jack from it. Do not buy this accessory; you will end up designing and fabricating your own brackets for your specific application. I did return the Loc-Rac "System" and Amazom graciously issued me a credit for it. Thank you.

The main components of this device will perform adequately, but the lock is about as secure as a cotter pin. Well, the cotter pin would probably be more difficult to remove than the lock. The wing nut that was supplied with the device was not tapped correctly so the wing nut must be angled to start the threads, which in turn causes the nut to wobble as it is tightened.

This mounting bracket is made to use in the bed of a pickup. Not on the hood of your jeep, not on a rack, but in the bed of a pickup and it does a damn good job of holding a Hi Lift securely. If your jack is a status symbol and you want a fancy rack that holds your jack out in the open for everyone to admire, this probably isn't for you. This keeps it tucked away in the bed of your truck until you need it. You may have to fab up a spacer to get things to line up depending on what type of pickup you have, if you can't do that, you might want to consider buying another type of jack as Hi Lifts aren't the most user friendly. We use these on service trucks and have never had a problem, they hold up to being bounced around rough country roads and trails every day of the week and take the abuse with no troubles.

Used this to mount my Hi-Lift to the bed of my Ford F-250 long bed. The bracket sits a little higher on the bed rail then I would like, with the jack projecting an inch or so above the top of the bed rail. Quality of the bracket is good and it keeps the jack secure - no rattling while driving. The lock included is indeed crap but easily replaced.

It does what it needs to do and holds the jack securely. I mounted inside the bed of my truck under the rails which was a bit of a chore. I had to purchase additional mounting hardware for this purpose and had to rig it a bit. The lock that comes with this is absolutely junk, you will need to purchase a new lock if you want to lock up your jack.

Awesome for keeping the hi-lift from sliding around in the bed of the truck. Mounted mine on the front of the bed and can still get the bedliner in there for hauling mulch with the jack removed, although it is a bit tight.
