5.0 out of 5 stars Very Creative Set!
This book's composed of 30 nice, thick, study postcards. The cards seem to be tailored toward adults with an immature adolescent in them - perfect for smiles if you like that kind of humor (which I do, very much!).

Worth noting the cards aren't really appropriate for children - the humor tends to be a bit sophisticated and there are cards that depict used...

3.0 out of 5 stars could be friendlier
First issue with these: they were much harder to remove from the book than other postcards I have (even from the same publisher). Not sure why that is, but I was being careful and I ripped a few (slightly). The cards themselves are thick, have a good writing surface, and lots of space for writing. Now, as to the cards themselves... I think I have a dark and absurd sense...

This book's composed of 30 nice, thick, study postcards. The cards seem to be tailored toward adults with an immature adolescent in them - perfect for smiles if you like that kind of humor (which I do, very much!).

Worth noting the cards aren't really appropriate for children - the humor tends to be a bit sophisticated and there are cards that depict used condoms (albeit hardly noticeable... although hilariously planted on a squirrel's head), alcoholic drinks, implied violence, angst, an astronaut in space wearing only underpants... There are also quite a few with underlying messages concerning life and depression (or perhaps am I reading too much into it?).

The artwork is very lively and interesting to look at; I honestly thought I was in for a very generic set of cards with pretty pictures to look at but there's a lot more to it - in particular the humor really tickles me. :)

My favorite card: "Dear neighbour, Couldn't help but notice you crying last night. Thought I should write a note to say that, well, people look quite ugly when they cry. Please, consider closing your blinds next time. - A Concerned Neighbour"

Nicely designed, laugh out loud post card goodness.
I had to get a second copy so I could mail off the
cards without having to part with them.
The nerdy slant of the jokes make these close to my heart.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very cute set of quirky cards, November 12, 2011

Some are way cuter than others; some are just plain odd - so be prepared to not "get" them all. Bur maybe that's half the point. I've hung some around my home (bathroom in particular) in
Cute frames and they look nice.

These postcards are fun & quirky -- a little offbeat, so I can't send them to everyone, but I think the friends who do receive them will really appreciate the humor! They came in this fancy binded-book-type-thing -- very classy. Would make a good gift. I keep them at my desk at work and write a card or two to when I'm having a slow day. Reading through them trying to pick out a card to send is entertainment in and of itself. Only complaint is they are hard to get out of the book! Not perforated or anything. So I make my boyfriend do it for me :)

First issue with these: they were much harder to remove from the book than other postcards I have (even from the same publisher). Not sure why that is, but I was being careful and I ripped a few (slightly). The cards themselves are thick, have a good writing surface, and lots of space for writing. Now, as to the cards themselves... I think I have a dark and absurd sense of humor. I found many of these to be either nice to look at and/or wickedly funny. However, I bought these when I went in search of postcards for Postcrossing, and I am hesitant to send many of these to strangers, as they might suspect I am very weird. I could send these to friends and family though, because they already are aware of my weirdness. But there are also some cards that I am disturbed to have in my presence, such as one that says "Beautiful Day for a Face Race" and has drawings of many faces with oars through their heads. Several of these faces have expressions of fear or confusion, and many seem oddly ok with having an oar through their face. There is also a card that just says "BYE" (in the same style as the cover's "HI") and though it is very pretty, I don't know when I'd ever write to someone to tell them "bye."

2.0 out of 5 stars Kins of strange boring cards, February 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Hi Postcard Book: 30 Postcards (Cards)
These postcards are nice and sturdy, with a couple of them having funny and/or artistic images.

That said, I've had the booklet for several months and have used maybe three of the cards. They're just not appealing when I look to send a message to a friend. The messages are strange and mostly hostile. And the attempts at humor don't work for me (though I understand from some of the positive reviews that they are very funny to other people).

This is a very cute postcard book. It is small and compact. The cards are put together very well and the quality is great. They are perfect for sending for no special occasion. It comes all put together in a cute book. I would purchase this again or from this publisher again.
