I used mink oil on these hiker's and they are completely watertite!!Thats what I needed with these and a good gripping sole!They feel like regular shoe's not hiker's to me!!Nice and lite,look sharp on also!Quality seems to be there this is my first HI TEC shoe that came by recommended friend! Glad I got em....Don't forget to use a
waterproofer like MINK OIL or SNO-SEAL!!!!

This is an excellent hiking shoe. It is very stable, providing very good support when walking over uneven surfaces, such as walking through hilly forests. It is also very comfortable. It has served me well, too, as a snow boot, although it is low-cut and not totally waterproof. I just slip a light plastic bag (those used by my newspaper deliverer to protect the paper) over my socks. That provides extra warmth and keeps my feet dry. I do this rather than buy a high-top waterproof boot, because I have an artificial left knee joint that makes it very difficult to pull on a high-top boot. This shoe/boot is really easy and painless to pull on and off. It holds up to all topographic and weather conditions. I think it's a fine shoe and a great value.

Once more a great product from Hi-Tec !!

After my previous pair wore out I compared searched and found the type of boot I wanted, and Hi-Tec won hands down for price, quality and fit (no need for insoles). These boots are even good in snow and keep my feet warm and dry even at -10 Celsius.

I usually buy two pairs of whatever hitec shoe i get so i can wear one to work (kitchen) and have another pair to wear hiking in the rockies...needless to say i usually also turn my second pair into work shoes after the first pair is demolished from gunk and chemicals and all that good stuff used to keep kitchens sparkly clean. However, I always get a hiking season out of the first pair, this is where I actually prefer hitec. these shoes stick to the rocks like Velcro and are awesome awesome awesome in the back country. Fairly light, super durable, and comfy. At work i stand in them all day and they are put to the test as i have stated...I highly recommend them! size 15.

Fit was good and they were comfortable but after a few miles the insoles were flattened to little more than paper.

They're not waterproof and not insulated so take some reviews here with a grain of salt.

A couple days of wet hiking turned the material under the insoles into red pulp that flushed out when I was rinsing them. Hi-Tec made my S-List.

This is a very comfortable hiking boot. I've owned the equivalent boot from Hi-Tec for years. I also wear them riding my motorcycle, which was my original reason for ordering this pair. My only complaint is they are less than a month old and the right sole already squeaks on hard floors. Doesn't impact the comfort or hiking quality, but is a bit annoying at work.

A wonderful trail boot, very comfortable. Note; I ordered my size but had to return them, with no hassle I might add, as they were too wide for my foot. I did find the exact same boot locally (as I needed them in a hurry) and they were a perfect fit. (go figure)
I can only conclude that this was an anomaly.

I received these shoes 3 days ago and have been wearing them at my job as a restaurant waiter to break them in. These shoes are actually more comfortable than my sneakers and after a day on my feet, I don't feel any pain or soreness. The shoes have good ankle support and look very nice. I'll update this review after I've gone hiking/backpacking a few times with these on.
