The Hi-Tec Haka Trail Light Hiking Desert/Taupe/Orange color boot is a great fit and doing a great job for me in Afghanistan. For day to day activiity around the FOB the boot wear good. The rain season is late, so will wait and see if it holds up when the rain comes. I rate it a 4.5... Recommend it.

I ordered on Friday morning and received them this morning. I ordered the 10-2E after calling Hi-Tec and finding out that the 2E is actually a 3E. This is good form me as my New Balance shoes are a 10-4E. I put them on, tightened them up and spent the next 20 minutes walking around the house (it's 10 deg. outside). The fit is great and they seem to be broken in now as far as the sole goes. They're comfortable around the ankle and the fact that they are lower in the back is good. One thing I did notice was that the tongue needs to be about 1/2" wider on each side where the speed lace grommets are. I'll follow up in the Spring with a long term revue. I bought these mainly for wearing when I go out metal detecting. But, I'll wear them during the winter to give them a real test.
Once again, I'll follow up in the Spring.

upon receiving the boots,the first thing I noticed they were already laced up,so I did not have to spend time lacing them.I ordered them in my usual size 10.5 medium width.the length and width are just right,the boots are comfortable and look well made,double rows of stiching on the seams,this is the first pair of hi-tecs i have purchased in over 20 years, i liked the first pair the sierra lites, they were great, thanks hi-tec and amazon,Gary

I am currently waiting on a refund for these boots because they were too small. My son is wearing a size 13.5 in Nike sneakers so I ordered these in a 14. His toes were at the very end of the boots! I will be re-ordering them a full size bigger (15) once I receive the refund.

Other than that, the boots appear exactly as advertised. They aren't too heavy, but they aren't so lightweight that they feel cheap. He thinks these boots will be very comfortable (once he has the correct size).

I bought a pair of Hi-Tec Hiking boots in Germany in 2005 the best boot i have every owned. It took me 2 mounths to find them again. I found them at Amazon.com order them got them very fast put them on 15 minutes later had them off and back in the box hurt my feet very bad. Still love and ware the ones from Germany and still the best boot i ever had
