Does it's job
I was happy with these shoes. I think the longest hike I did in them was 14 miles, and they worked well. Not too heavy for a hiking shoe. Since I am rather ungraceful and stub my toes all the time, I was super grateful for the toe guard; there were a couple times I hit some rocks pretty hard and my toes would have been goners.

Very Disappointed.....
This is my second pair of Hi-Tec shoes. I absolutely loved my first pair and wore them until they were so wore out that I could not wear them anymore. They lasted about 4 1/2 years. I bought this pair last summer and the shoes are already falling apart. I am very disappointed.

This is my second pair of Hi-Tec Shoes. I look for a tennis shoe like, water proof shoe with traction for snowy times. My first pair and this pair have lasted me a couple of years each. I hate wet feet and these have been reliable in keeping mine dry. I have plantar fasciitis too and these don't hurt my feet even without orthotics. I have worn these on vacation where I walked all day long in them and stayed comfortable.
