5.0 out of 5 stars great sturdy lightweight shoe!
shoe is perfect for winter casual wear, and hiking in woods. lightweight for everyday use. no leather so i don't feel bad wearing it in mud! runs a bit small, so its a close fit... maybe i should have gone a 1/2 size bigger, for thick socks, but it'll do. eyelets are strong metal and great tread. what else to say? love it!!

3.0 out of 5 stars more like a hiking sneaker
This boot provides very little support--no arch support, etc. Even with the addition of an insole, I have to wear really thick socks. I've worn them only a couple of times and the right boot is squeeking already.
I need a narrow width sturdy boot. Any suggestions?

5.0 out of 5 stars Hi-Tec for ever, November 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This was my fifth pair of Hi-Tec boots. My old pair hasn't worn out yet, it probably has another year or so left. I have been a Hi-Tec fan for almost 30 years because they last at least 5 years. My last pair was a bit small for heavy socks, so this time I ordered a half size larger for the winter.

4.0 out of 5 stars light-weight hiker, February 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Have worn all day on three or four occasions. Have worn through the snow and into work on dress down days. Feet have not gotten hot. Earlier reviews mentioned buying a size up and I concur. The fit would be snug in my regular size. Comfortable on day 1.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice, May 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These came quickly and packaged nicely. Unlike the other reviewers I didn't order 1/2 size bigger and glad because these fit perfect. They don't appear to be water resistant so you may want to waterproof them. The only thing I noticed was they seemed a little hot like a lot of air doesn't get in. They look great, are very light weight but appear very sturdy.

I recommend these. If you have slim feet you may want to go with your regular shoe size, worked for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable, January 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These boots were comfy right out of the box, no breaking in. I went hiking in them the next day. I got 8.5m although I am usually an 8m because of reviews and am happy I did, with thick hiking socks these fit perfectly. These are great and I'd recommend these anyday.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hi-Tec Hi-Praise, September 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is my second pair of Hi-tecs. I use these cos I dont like trainers, and brought my first pair two & half years ago for when I went home on vacation. I practicially lived in them, used them during the day and as I usually wear jeans I also used them when I went out at night. They are so comfortable, I had hours of dancing and activity and no aching feet the next day.

The outer material is durable - it is still in very good condition even after nearly 3yrs of almost daily wear and tear. The inner material allows your feet to breathe so they didnt get sweaty and the shoe didnt get pongy however I guess I wore the innersole out so I've been using a replaceable one which is no where near as good as the origional padding.

So since I am returning home for the Xmas period I thought I'd treat myself to a new pair and just use my others for rough day wear.

I really love these and highly recommend them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Hiking Boots, July 4, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I read a lot of reviews on women hiking boots and i decided to go with these boots. They are amazing! I did not have to break them in and they are very comfortable! I am a size 7 but I read some of the reviews prior to go a size up and so I got 7 1/2. I would say it was a good choice to go with. They are also like and not ugly and bulky like most hiking boots. The only down part about these shoes are that they are not fully water proof. Once water touches the mid point of your shoes your socks will get wet! If you are on the edge of getting these boots go for it! They are inexpensive and very comfy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great hiking boot!, April 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great hiking boot! I bought these recently as my first pair of hiking boots.

I've worn these boots three times now and they are fantastic. No need to break them in; they were great from the beginning.

Comfy for the duration of all hikes I've done - definitely pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend!!

4.0 out of 5 stars decent boot, but not high quality, December 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have owned several brands of hiking shoes. To name a few I have tried Columbia, Hi-Tec and a pair from Walmart. This pair is not as high quality as Columbia and the price is close to a name brand boot, but it is do-able. I like the style, fit and color. It is comfy, my feet were not sore after shopping (yes shopping) in them for several hours. But they did start to rub my ankle, I might have to adjust the way I lace them up. I would say they are good enough and I'm overall satisfied.
