5.0 out of 5 stars Remixes added 90's edge to YMO
These remixes add not only a 90's feel to many YMO favorites, but add the flair and style of the many contributors. Especially enjoyable are the remixes by 808 state, which keep an overall chord structure from "Light in the Darkness" but embellish the song to a point where it is barely recognizable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stick with the originals.
The main reason I checked this out, besides that it was more material from the incomparable Y.M.O., was that is had some Orb remixes of Tong Poo. I'm sad to say that Dr. Alex Patterson's remixes sound so completely different from the originals that they may as well be credited to him alone. The main reason I checked this out, besides that it was more material from the incomparable Y.M.O., was that is had some Orb remixes of Tong Poo. I'm sad to say that Dr. Alex Patterson's remixes sound so completely different from the originals that they may as well be credited to him alone. The only bright spot to the collection are the two remixes of Firecracker which stick close to the original melody and add updated beats, which by now sound dated anyway. But hey, if you want to hear Y.M.O. mixed up with passe house beats from the 90's then by all means, seek this crap out.

YMO helped pioneer the Techno music revolution, along with Kraftwerk. The artists on this remix album are the children, brothers, and sisters of the movement. Thoroughly enjoyable, and hard to get tired of.
