I was a bit hesitant to purchase this battery, seeing as there were scant reviews here and having been burned by cheap quality replacement batteries in the past, but this battery has proven very good so far. I purchased it to replace an OEM battery in a Dell laptop, which is used heavily during the summer months for our car club. The laptop itself is subjected to outdoor use, and this battery has proven very reliable this past year. It provides hours of use on a full charge, and there has been no sign of degradation of the life of the battery to date. Fit perfectly, too, unlike some other generic batteries I've seen before.

The picture shows an NiMh battery that is 9.6v and 4500mah. The battery I received is actually a L-Ion 14.8v 4400mah and will not work on my Dell Inspiron model 1200. The picture was of the battery I actually needed, but that's not the battery you'll get if you buy this battery. Be careful!

My Inspiron 2200 battery quit after 6 years of hard use. Back then Dell sold both NiMH and LiIon batteries, NiMH cost less. The replacement is Lithium, reasonable price, and much longer life, more than 4 hours per charge. The original never went more than 2-1/2 hours new, down to less than 1 hour at the end. A big improvement.

One concern: the AC power unit gets hot when charging the battery. Never did that before. So far, not a problem, but something to keep an eye on. The new battery may need more current to charge.
