FM HiFi WIRELESS 5 in 1 Super Bass Headphones

I didn't buy this wireless headphone set on Amazon. I happened to catch a really really low bargain deal at Ross Dress For Less.... You know how they always get cool gadgets for a cheap price. I got mine for a steal at only $10.00 about a year ago. I hope that the fact that I didn't buy these on Amazon will not ruin my review for anyone.

I'm going to lay it down about how it really is with these headphones...

1. THE SOUND - The sound is ok for a wireless headphone system that is powered by tiny batteries. Don't expect High Definition sound and you won't be dissapointed. You are not going to hear booming bass or crystal clear high sound but as long as you know that then it's not a big deal. I find they have better sound when you don't try listening to them at it's higher volume levels. About halfway or lower on the volume switch is all you need.

2. THE COMFORT - These headphones have big pads around the earphones and I'm not going to lie these headphones are kinda big so they have a little bit of weight to them. The pads are very comfortable but might take some getting used to as they will cover your whole ear unless you have dumbo ears and they do cancel out some noise but not completely. I mean if your phone rings you will hear it unless your far away from it. The weight of these headphones is enough to really keep you aware that you are wearing them but they won't crush your skull. You may have to take a break from wearing them for a short bit sometimes like I do.

3. THE PRICE - They are cheap, but the headphones seem pretty solid.

4. THE RANGE - I don't know specifically how far you can go before the headphones lose range of the transmitter and I'm sure that the number of walls that seperate you from the transmitter when you walk into other rooms plays a big part in reception but I have to tell you I can walk into every room in my home and still listen to my music. The range and reception is not bad at all.

5. YOU WON'T WAKE THE NIEGHBORS - When it gets late and all your neighbors are trying to sleep because they have to get out of bed at 5 a.m. but your still in the mood to blast your favorite music you can do that with these headphones and get up and dance or whatever it is you do when you listen to your tunes and you won't disturb the neighbors with all your noise (I mean music).

6. DO I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT - Definitely yes as long as you accept that they are not made for high quality sound. I have never been dissapointed.

I love these headphones. In fact, I'm online today buying a replacement set for the one I've been using for over a year (battery leaked inside base and killed the contact!). You can easily switch between FM stations, and from radio to your computer/MP3/TV by using a button on the headset. Volume is controlled on the headset. Both the headset and base run on batteries, so you don't need to have yet another electrical outlet available to use these. I am totally amazed at how long the base will transmit on a pair of AAA batteries. In fact, I never had to replace the batteries in my unit, which is why I didn't realize one of the batteries was leaking. I must admit, that I don't use the headphones more than about an hour each day, but still, the battery life is great. I really love that I can walk into my kitchen -- 2 rooms away from the base -- and still have good reception, so I can listen to music from my computer while doing dishes, making dinner, etc. You can't beat this unit for the price. Note: I don't use it for TV; just use connected to my computer for playing music, or listening to FM radio.

BATTERIES: With fairly heavy use for about ten nights, the original AAA batteries (not supplied, if I recall correctly) are still going strong. Some reviewers have noted other headsets go through batteries rapidly. This takes 2 AAAs in the headset and another 2 in the base (transmitter).
RANGE: The base only needs to be on when the headset's built-in FM tuner is not the mode being used. Using FM you can walk literally anywhere with these on -- across the street (though I wouldn't since I don't know anyone there), across town, heck hop a plane! I haven't had a problem, though mostly using them in the house, mainly for FM reception.
COMFORT: Much more comfortable than a really cheap-o wired pair I recently bought.
QUALITY: Seems fine. especially for the price!

I recieved these wireless headphones and immediately had problems. The unit does not ship with an electrical adapter (it is not supposed to come with one), so you have to either use 4 AAAs (2 each for the headphones and reciever) or buy a universal adapter for the reciever. The reciever did not power on at all with batteries. I tried (all new) different brands and nothing worked. The unit did power on with a universal adapter, but I still had problems.

The headphones will default to FM recieving until you tell it to scan for the TV reciever. This functionality worked very well. Sound was great. Once I tried to use them with my TV however, I noticed that there was a high pitched very loud background noise that I couldn't get rid of. I grabbed a pair of wired headphones and tested multiple devices with both pairs of headphones. The reciever was transmitting it. I moved it all over my house and there was no change. Technical support from the seller suggested that I get a refund because -get this- "my house has a permanent problem with wireless devices". I use other wireless devices all the time without any problems. Save yourself the money and buy a better set.

I have more expensive cordless headphones but, you'll need to spend more than two to three times this price to notice better sound. If all you intend to do is listen to TV, then these wireless headphones will satisfy all but the most hard to please audiophiles.

I just recieved these wireless headphones about two days ago! Now I will place my review since I have use them the last two days! I must say I am really really happy with them for the price they amazed me. I have mainly got them to watch tv at night with. My wife and I got a new Samsung flat screen and I love to stay up late watching tv but sound would keep her awake at night plus our baby sleeps in there to and keeps him awake as well. Was amazed how the radio sounded! Wont us radio much but is nice and for tv WOW I am happy! Now for the suoer bass part I think they went over board a bit. But, it does sound good for the price dont expect some rumbling bass in a headphone or something. But, by no means am I saying they suck because they dont! As for mobility amazingly awsome for being low priced pretty good I live in an apartment and can go to room to room with them on while going wireless and sounds great!Batterys seem to last awhile I watch tv for about 3 to 4 a night. Keep in mine the base and headphone take batterys 4 all together. The base does have the option to use 4.5 ac adapter which I will get so I dont have to get up and turn off base at night after watching tv so batterys dont die. I hope this helps you! I just want to be honest cause I know how it is to buy something and want to know details! I would tell you to buy they are worth it! Very happy!!!!

These are great to watch and listen to TV after hubby goes to bed and not disturb his sleep!

I have always v=been a late night person and there are a few shows I like to watch and they are on too late to watch normally. So this way I can!

Great investment.

I took a chance on this for XMAS for my husband and I have to say that it's an amazing product for the price. I can't believe the ease of use/sound quality/soft padded leather feel of the headband/etc. Wireless works great, though you will hear some static if you pause a DVD and walk to another room to grab a drink or use the bathroom (but if you don't like that just take them off first!) Buying another pair for myself since I watch tv in the bedroom at night while my son sleeps (we co sleep because I nurse so these have afforded me some much needed downtime while still letting me care for our toddler - but my huband wants them back so he can watch DVDs in the nearby livingroom without waking our son). NOTE: The picture makes them look dark cranberry in color - both the stand and the headphones - but mine arrived simply shiny black. Not the biggest letdown in the world but the picture made them look a certain way and I was sad to find plain black on arrival.

What an extraordinarily good deal! I concur with the three older reviews, and add:

- Receiver FM channel selection operates as follows, and I quote: "Press SCAN key once, and the receiver will automatically search toward a higher range and lock one radio channel; when the highest range is reached. press RESET key and the frequency returns to the lowest range. Press SCAN key again, and the receiver will search the radio channels from the low range again." Without any readout or dial, you must either recognize your station or temporarily utilize another radio to help recognize your station. Having done that, now I know that my two favorite stations are Reset+five clicks for the first and three clicks more for the second one. The included transmitter is just reset+one click, 86MHz. The headphones power on with your last frequency setting.

- The headphones can be used as ordinary headphones. A stereo miniplug cable and a stereo miniplug-stereo female phono cable are included.

- The transmitter unit includes a builtin mic. In my opinion it would not suffice as a conversation monitor or, ahem, bug. It could serve as a wireless mic. There is an audio input which will accept a better mic or a signal from a TV or some other such device. A second input is via a cable ending in male stereo phone plugs.

- The transmitter can be powered by a 4.5 DC wall wart, not included. This boosts the signal, but a typical cheap power adapter adds AC hum.

I'm going to order more of these. Maybe some for people in the neighboring apartment, hee hee.

For the price of the head phones you can not beat their quality. Once in awhile static will come through especially if you are away from the receiver in a different room. Not the greatest headphones for video games
