I complained and the company not only listened, but also refunded my order. Moreover, I just received the new designed capsules. What a difference! Capsules match right to my Nespresso and the quality of coffee is outstanding - fabulous crema, rich espresso.
I have nothing but great things to say about how they have not only replaced troubled pods, but have improved the product.
I have tried almost all Nespresso pods, including specialty ones, and was interested in exploring other choices. HiLine coffee generally got much better reviews than most other Nespresso-compatible brands, so I dediced to try, and purchased the whole variety, including Wall Street, SoHo, etc.
Regrettably, my general conclusion across the whole product line was that it simply doesn't taste like espresso, be it Nespresso or the one prepared manually by grinding beans... To me HiLine resembles a poor imitation, with a sweet cocoa flavor, and this opinion is shared by my two co-workers who also drink Nespresso on a regular basis, and with whom I shared. I am still trying to consume the pods I purchased...
While taste in coffee is something very personal, for those of you who like good espresso made from ground beans (Illy, Lavazza, Capresso, etc.) or Nespresso pods, I would advise not to buy HiLine pods.
HiLine's the best I've tried for the Nespresso compatible products; following the intensity guide I like that it carries a familiar scale, and it doesn't require great skill like the baristas of yore (Yore, I Say! ;). I love the combo pack they offer here, will be giving them as Christmas gifts as well.
When the pods did work, I got a good cup of coffee but it not the risk of damaging my machine to use these and I'm not saving a dime due to the reject rate.
When these are finally gone, I will not buy again.
The pods recently changed (they look different at least) and work perfectly every time. I've never had any problems with the pods or my machine (Citiz) accepting them. The lower price point makes these a no-brainer.
I'm anxiously awaiting running low on coffee supplies so that I can order more and try out some new kinds.

These pods do not work in the Nespresso D150 AT ALL. I have to punch a hole in the top with a knife and STILL have to fight to align it right. It is a real wrestling match. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Jo McCroskey
