Book Description

Deep within the forests of the Pacific Northwest, two vampire coalitions battle for supremacy--Guardians who safeguard humanity and Darkbloods, rogues who will stop at nothing to satisfy their craving for the sweetest of human blood.

Now, former Army Ranger Finn McKentry finds himself imprisoned as a blood slave, forced to submit to an enemy more powerful than any he's encountered before. Only Brenna Stewart, the woman he'd loved and lost, can set him free--but the secret she harbors might lead them down the most dangerous path of all...

An ebook exclusive Sweetblood novella.

"Dark and sinfully sexy."
--New York Times bestselling author Cherry Adair on Bonded by Blood

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Thanks for checking out my first e-novella! Hidden By Blood is a complete romance from start to finish and is approximately 50-60 pages long. Although it's set in the same Sweetblood world as the full-length novels, it is not necessary to have read the books to understand and enjoy this story.

While writing Hidden, Finn took over my life. He's brash, bold, and fearless, and he demanded that this not be the last time we see him. So it won't be. You'll see glimpses of both of them in book #2 and, if I know Finn, he'll show up in future books as well.

Happy Reading!

This wasn't a bad read, the book had potential but with more tweaks to the story it would have been a very good book. Even though it's a novella you still got what the story was about, but when I started reading, it grabbed my attention half way through the second chapter, after that it got my attention a bit and stayed till the end.

Finn was captured by a vampire and held captive, he was then rescued by Brenna who dated Finn a while back and who Finn didn't know was a vampire while they were dating. While rescuing Finn, he discovered that Bren is a vampire, Finn wasn't really upset, you would think after being kidnapped for blood by a vampire. After all that Finn and Bren figured out there relationship as human and vampire and moved on from there, that's basically it the sex was juicy though. As I said it's not bad but it isn't great, it was still an ok read and it's free for now.

3.0 out of 5 stars Little Twist on Vamps and Their Food July 26, 2011
By Liz
Format:Kindle Edition
How do you make something old new again? By making one particular kind of human blood addictive, that's how!

What Ms. London has done is take the vampire world that we all know and love and made a few twists to make it unique to the world she's created. There's some alluding to vampires being able to tolerate sunlight, having retractable fangs, and not needing blood very frequently in order to surive (along with eating regular food).

Jenna is the vamp, Finn is the human with - no surprise here - the addictive blood type. He's plunged head first into a world that he didn't know existed and she tries to walk away, again, for his own good. Although this book is short, it brings us into the characters' personalities well using musings by both characters over their romantic past.

It appears this book is only free from Harlequin for a limited time, so scoop it up now. It's a good, quick read with some nice hot loving, a few romantic misunderstandings, and the type of hero that we all want. The guy that refuses to walk away from his woman, even to his own detriment!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hidden by Blood December 28, 2011

What it is about: "Former Army Ranger Finn McKentry finds himself imprisoned as a blood slave, forced to submit to an enemy more powerful than any he's encountered before. Only Brenna Stewart, the woman he'd loved and lost, can set him free-but the secret she harbors might lead them down the most dangerous path of all."

My thoughts: The book was interesting and steamy. It takes from several vampires known factors and added some new facts. This novella is part of a series and gives you an idea of what to wait for in the next group of books. It is a quick read for those vampire adult lovers since it is an erotic romance book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great series! October 24, 2011

Still liking this series in a big way. While not a fan of most novella's this one is a keeper. The story kept my interest and moved so fast - WHAM, it was over and I was left wanting more. Great author. Brenna and Finn's story, while short was still good, jumping in quick with the action and had them rekindling a prior relationship. Nice to have something to tide me over and that ties in with the next bk Embraced by Blood. Loved Irish Finn. Even though he's human he's still alpha enough to stand up to vamp Dom and hold is own. What a guy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Kept me on my toes until the final page September 21, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was amazenly well written for a novella. The author was able to weave a tale that not only kept me in suspense until the last page, but also had well developed characters that were highly likeable. I was a little disappointed on how the conflict ended, I would have expected just a little more action before the ending. Either way, for the length of the story it was very good. I look forward to reading more from this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Short, sweet and to the point July 6, 2011
By NancyJ
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The story was neatly wrapped up and tied with ribbons of intense sex. Can't beat that. The story was interesting and the basis of that story just new enough to be intriguing. There is action and interaction and surprise as well as the expected. An enjoyable novella, easy to read and easy to get through very rapidly. No waiting for gratification in this story!

5.0 out of 5 stars Short and sweet September 15, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a good read! If you are looking for some paranormal romance, a little sex, mystery and some fun, this book has it all.
I enjoyed the hero Finn, manly, a fighter, and sensitive to his woman. The heroine Brenna was feminine, determined and a vampire. This was a cute romance; London packed a lot of action and romance in this quick story. She made connections to hook the reader. I was hooked and got the other two stories, Bonded by blood and Embraced by blood. I can't wait to read them.

I have to admit that the Twilight craze got me hooked on vampire series. The twist Laurie London takes on the idea is refreshing and different from others I've read recently. Great read!
