A wondrous romp through the history of puzzles,

Mr. Berloquin has assembled a marvellous, entertaining and HIGHLY informative history of codes and coding. The book - often extremely tongue-in-cheek - is not meant to be 'serious' (as in dull, dry and dusty), though serious enough it is for the general reader, who - i am certain - will learn more than a little as they wander down its many leafy avenues.

I must confess i haven't read the entire book. I found it hard to make it past the first Chapter where the author mistakingly refers to Brutus as Caesar's son and goes on to mix up columns and rows in explaining how to solve one of the numerous decoding puzzles in the book. Although both are fairly minor mistakes it frustrated me too much to read on.
