Thrilling and full of Suspense,

This review is from: The Hidden Evil (Fear Street, No. 5) (Mass Market Paperback)
Truly the worst evil imaginable---the evil in the heart of a child. The book reveals two faces of human nature --- one good and one evil. It is a true suspense with good dialogue. The plot is excellent but something was lacking which is why I did not feel it just to give a five star rating. R.L. Stine manages to continue spinning yarns about the Fear family and its curse leaving us impatiently waiting for the next story. The book is worth reading. Learn about the evil hidden within the depths of the Malbourne Estate...

I liked the book, but I had already guessed the ending even before I picked up the book. Still It kept me up all night. I got to sleep at four in the morning. I read this book while I was staying at my Grandmothers and her guestroom has no television. I stayed up all night sweating bullets, afraid to look in the stupid mirror afraid of seeing the stupid ghost of the angry mother or looking to my left and seeing the evil kid with a knife ready to slice right through me.

Maggie was an easy suspect for her father's murder . . . the fact she argued with him before his death . . . her sister's "slips" . . . and of course, the poison found in her room. Sentenced to hang, she learns too late who the real culprit is. Then, a stroke of good luck. A family she once did a good deed for leads her to safety, to work as a governess for a wealthy widower and his two boys. But everything is not so perfect; one child is violent, and the other is sweet, but a little . . . off after his mother's death. When strange things start happening . . . accidents that aren't accidents . . . everyone assumes the villian is Garrett; after all, he did do away with all the governesses before him. But no one, least of all Maggie, finds out the real truth . . . a truth from behind the grave . . .Great book. Read if the you saw or read Pet Sematary and the little kid who came back from the dead scared the hell out of you . . . or read if you, like me, collect this series. Some of the books in this series aren't even listed here on Amazon and the one I need is out of print! Grr

Grusome, Scary, and Suspensful--Stine does it again!,

This review is from: The Hidden Evil (Fear Street, No. 5) (Mass Market Paperback)
I have read over 56 R.L Stine books, and this is one of the top five books.
Maggie was a suspect of her father's murder; it was simple. They argued before he died, so of course she is going to be the lead suspect. Maggie is sent to jail, and she is supposed to be hanged. "Poor little rich girl!" they all sneer. But a family rescues Maggie, and she goes off to become a governess for a family. Maggie didn't like the manor from the beginning, but the little boy, Garret, seems evil. "The Hidden Evil" was great, and I've read it twice! I higly reccomend this if you like scary books. It is pretty grusome, so you're now warned!

This book was really great. It was one of the best of his sagas and I could not put it down. R.L Stine puts so much work into his books. He adds horror, love and suspence into the books he writes. And these books, in my opinion, leave you reading and reading....
