Indian culture unveiled,
This review is from: The Hidden Glory of India (Paperback)
This book gave me a deep insight into the Indian culture and it's spiritual roots. When I heard about India I was always attracted to its mysticism and colorful culture but wasn't able to understand the meaning of all the details of life in India. This book opened my eyes and gave me an understanding about the Indian, or better to say Vedic, perspective on life and it's meaning as well as the origin of the belief in the "holy cows" and worship of many different personalities.Altogether it is a guidebook to Indian religion, culture and life in general.

Glossy & glitzy look at Hinduism.,

Make sure you read the description and check out the 'Look Inside' feature above. This book is about the religions of India - not about India in general.Virtually the entire book is about Hinduism. There are plenty of pictures, diagrams and maps to accompany the descriptions. For someone (like me) wanting an overview of Hinduism, this was a very helpful book. The only negatives: it was too 'busy' and it didn't go into the actual day-to-day practices. For a primer, this is a good choice.

This book's speciality is its simplicity. It has two pages dedicated for each mythological character, relegion and festivals. It gives an easy-to-understand explanation for each with some illustrations. Good reading for adults and school-going children. I have decided to buy multiple copies and give it as a birthday gift all year long to various people.
