Just A Taste Of Greatness,

So this isn't many tracks. But it's a very unique sound. Shaman Witches Magic is probably their most well known song. It's a bit rougher than most of their songs, but has a very nice unique sound. HIPV can pull off the unique sound of Belly Full of Kerosene and Shaman Witches Magic, as well as the more poppy sound of Burned and Ferriswheel. Drive-Thru records has bet a lot on HIPV, creating tons of merchandise for them, before they even really got known or a full CD. There's definitely a reason why Drive-Thru bet so much on HIPV. I suggest you check this one out.

I first heard Hidden In Plain View a couple of months ago. I was truely impressed. I was a little taken back by Shamans Witches magic just because its a breathtaking scary song. I personally think Hidden In Plain view will never get the hype as NFG but thats ok because Hidden In plain view is a classic band with a classic sound. If you like any band on Drive Thru you will like Hidden In Plain View

This EP is pretty good. I have heard better from Drive-Thru but other is great. I got hooked on Hidden In Plain View when I first heard Shamans Witches Magic. More standout tracks are Twenty Below. I cant wait until Hidden In Plain View's album. I can tell they have great potential.

this cd makes it clear that hidden in plain view is the next big thing for drive thru records. hidden in plain view is an outstanding new band with a great lead singer in joe reo. in this cd they show a variety of different sound; each song is unique and a different style.
shamans witches magic- one of the best songs on the ep, it reminds me alot of the fast paced songs by Brand New the chaser- yet another good song. i love this song it has great guitar riffs near the chorus where the highways end- this, again, shows hipv's versitility. its completely different from the rest of the ep, and its awesome belly full of kerosene- my favorite song on the ep. the drums throughout the song are awesome and joe reo really shows his voice in this. 20 below- the only song on this ep that will be on the full length, and its deserving of it. again something different from hipv and more brilliance all i can say is get this cd and the full length is out february 22 get that too!

This is the best thing I've heard in quite a while and I only wish there was more to feast on! Excellent lyrics, catchy riffs but still with feeling and raw emotion grace the few tracks on this ep. buy it and you wont regret.

i am impressed with Hidden In Plain View's Ep. I love how every song is totally different.1.Shamans Witches Magic- Most aggressive song on the EP, And This song reminds me of the band Taking Back Sunday. 2.The Chaser- This is my favorite song on the Ep I love the begining and riffs, reminds me of the band The Starting Line 3.Where The Highway Ends- Starts off slow then builds up...i love it 4.Belly Full of Kerosene-Sounds alot like Senses Fail,i love the beat to this song 5.20 below- the ending to the Ep.. this song is great and it keeps you guessing and wanting more!! If you like the bands The Starting Line, Taking Back Sunday, Senses Fail or The Early November i would recommend this cd for you. This band has a great future.

Note: Amazon.com made a mistake. There is acutally 5 tracks on the EP, with the 5th being 'Twenty Below'.Following the footsteps of New Jersey natvies Senses Fail, and Early November, Hidden In Plain View is another top band to get snatched up by Drive Thru Records. This EP proves why such a big label has signed them. Each song is crafted differently, and very good musically and lyrically. I really like Joe, the lead signer's vocals, and he shows off them on every song. 1. 'Shamans Witches Magic' - The first single, and my favorite track on the record. It takes off so heavly and ends beautifully. Amazing lyrics. Definetly a stand out. Overall, a very good debut by Hidden In Plain View. Reminds me of a mix of Senses Fail, and Early November. Their debut LP is coming out later this year, and that's one to keep an eye out for.

wow I ordered this EP before it came out on DTR and I met Joe and Rob back in august at a local show. I couldn't wait to start listening to it, and I haven't stopped listening to it since I got it two weeks ago. it is one of the best EPs I've heard in quite some time, and that includes Operation: Cut-Throat. the best thing I like about most of HIPV's songs are their last lines on each song. let's go through the song list:shamans witches magic: "what's left of the dreams we had? what's left of the hope we had?"....really really packs a punch, talks about people dying. so if you can handle influential music, then its one of the best song on here. 2nd best on the EP the chaser: "I'm sorry, I'll be gone next summer, so don't wait for me"....great song, last best song on EP; still a good song, but kind of a letdown after shamans...I still love the EP just the same where highways end: "dreams that washed away"....great song (about growing up/moving on, in my opinion) 4th best song on EP belly full of kerosene: "and the fire in your heart is fueling the pain"...i like how joe related feelings to burning stuff up, it's cool. 3rd best song on EP 20 below: "dirt deep beneath my fingernails, I'm gripping to the floor. searching through the world, always lookin for something more. just wait and you'll see you're everything I want"....what can I say about this song? I'm speechless; I was completely blown away with this song! i'm pretty sure that if they do what finch did (put songs from their first EP onto their first full-length), 20 below will be their first single! very best song on EP HIPV's gonna go a long way and I'm all for it. they very nice guys, they have extensive talent, and I wish nothin but love and the best for them in the future. "DOES IT FEEL LIKE, FEEL LIKE 20 BELOW?????????"

Wow! This ep is actually quite good for only 5 bucks, and I think it is my second favorite drive thru has put out (I have most of them anyway). I would recommend this to fans of senses fail, taking back sunday, or starting line. Heres my track by track review:Shamans Witches Magic- This is one of my favorites on the ep. The guitar part when Joe comes in singing is awesome. It sounds alot along the lines of Senses Fail. The songs lyrics are quite cool also. By listening to the lyrics it sounds like someones taking over some city/ town. "no one sleeps tonight, until everything is burn and everyone is sacrificed. 5/5 The Chaser- This is probably my least favorite track on the album. I wouldnt consider it too bad though. I don't know how to describe this one. This is a song on the album that sounds a little more like starting line to me. It sounds a little poppier like their old stuff, but darker like the new stuff. It is still a good song though. 3.5/5 Where the Highways End- I really like this song. It is alot slower than anything theyve released before. This song, to me anyways, stands out alot to the other songs because i havent heard a song that sounds terribly like this one before. The chorus is incredibly catchy, also. Belly Full of Kerosene- This is another one that sounds alot like a senses fail song. Not as good as "shamans" but still a great song. Its a little heavier than the other songs with more screaming. 4/5 20 Below- This song is on here as a bonus track. Great beginning, great ending, what else can I say? The beginning starts lighter, with a little screaming, gets louder, and louder, and at times softer again. This song is likea rollercoaster i guess. It also has great lyrics. "Frostbite on my heart. This pain and suffering, are feelings that you dont know." 5/5 JuST BY THE CD!

This band has not found its comfortable sound.,

Hidden in Plain View hasn't been able to find a sound with this record. It screams "awkward" from start to finish, and the songwriting seems to actually be on the decline compared to the Find E.P. and Operation: Cut-throat. The single curious exception to this rule is the oddly precocious, mature "20 Below", which offers the listener a glimpse of hope for the full-length. I loved this band before this E.P., and I'm sure they'll redeem themselves with the upcoming full-length? Maybe?
