I was very disappointed in this book,

This review is from: Hidden Power: How to Unleash the Power of Your Subconscious Mind (Hardcover)
I am into reading Emmett Fox, Catherine Ponder, and Murphy and had read the reviews of this book and bought it. However, I was very disappointed. This author just sounds like he has read a bunch of other positive thinking books and have paraphrased his own book. I think it sounds so fake. I think I could have written this. Not motivating, I couldn't even stay with it.

I liked this book. While the author does get a little repetitive there were some interesting things I like about it. First I should preface this by saying that I have been researching different people's work on this topic for that last few months. With that being said, where other authors may leave off he picks up on.
Ophiel's book called the Art and Practice of creative visualization is a great juxta position to this work. In both books there are things you have to DO. Sorry they do not give you the answer any more than a road map gives you a general idea to how to get some where. So if you do not do the work yourself then it is your loss. The second thing I liked was that he gave many Christain scriptures to look up. While not a Christian myself I found that very interesting how a pagan, like Ophiel and a Christian author like Van Fleet, can have very similar views. I found that by reading the Scriptures in their totality and not just one line did I find the value that the author was trying to give the reader, me. So by reading and researching what others have done, along with doing the work in their excersices I have had some good come from it to me. However, you need to do your homework. The value comes from doing the excersices and not just the words on a page.
