In a nutshell, this book was absolutely fabulous. I finished Hidden Sins a month ago and still have a vivid recollection of characters, events, and details. All too often books are written, read and forgotten, but this book immediately draws the reader in, keeps your attention and leaves a lasting impression. I felt like I was being chased along with the main characters. I felt the Texas heat on my skin. My heart was yearning to be loved, but afraid to be hurt!! It was great!! As with any good book, I didn't want it to end. This is a must read and I can't wait to see what happens next!!

Great book! Definitely a must read! I couldn't put the book down. The adventures mixed with the romance really held my attention. I loved the way the development of Ethan's and Mara's characters unfolded. It's exciting to find out how all the mysteries tie together.

There aren't many African American suspense/romance writers and Ms. Montgomery hasn't disappoint me yet. I truly enjoyed Mara and Ethan adventure in finding her grandfather's buried gold. I was so engrossed in the clues and events leading up to them recovering the gold. There wasn't much romance between Mara and Ethan but that is typical in Ms Montgomery books she usually focus on the suspense than the romance. Its ok because she leaves you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next. If you are into mystery and suspense you will enjoy this one.

Selena Montgomery has been placed on my "must read" list. Hidden Sins provides a storyline that captured my attention from the first page. Mara and Ethan share the type of love that many search for...endless and everlasting. Although they have been separated for more than ten years, the fire, spark, love can be felt through a touch, a glance. Awesome! Their journey to unearth hidden treasures provides the path for love to rebirth. The twists and turns that Mara takes Ethan on for the treasure parallels their path to love. You will enjoy this book.

Almost six decades ago in Texas, her grandfather and his associates stole a cache of stolen gold worth millions then that con artist Mara Reed now seeks. So do others who are willing to torture and kill for information; especially Arthur Rabbe who killed a young history teacher Mary Kay Ross-Harper, a descendent of one of the associates, to obtain a journal from her.

In Detroit, Mara's beloved forensic anthropologist Dr. Ethan Stuart rescues her from two thugs though he has not forgotten that the only woman he ever loved stole his life savings before dumping him. Mara would tell you it in her genes, but hides the fact that he is the one she loves. Ethan needs Mara to allow him access to family records as corpses have been found buried in a church yard once led by her father; Mara needs Ethan to keep Arthur and his hoodlums at bay while she seeks the treasure. Love is not the issue; trust is.

The romance between the lead couple takes a back seat to the murder mystery and treasure hunt as the exciting story line is more of a suspense thriller than a tale of love. Mara is a fascinating character as she earns her living conning others including at one time her significant other. Though some might question her morals, she makes the tale fun as Ethan still desires her, but does not trust her and Arthur wants her first in bed and then dead. Selena Montgomery provides an action-packed suspense thriller that grips readers from the moment Ethan comes to the rescue and never slows down as the audience wonder if the couple survive will she fleece him again.

Ms Montgomery tells a great story of mystery, intrigue, & love. I have read many of her books and am NEVER disappointed!!! Her stories keep me awake reading & guessing right up until the very end. Here's hoping Ms Montgomery keeps up the great work!!!

Great story, this is more an intrigue than a romance. Childhood sweethearts reunite to solve a 70 year old mystery to find missing gold. Only hiccup is the end is a bit of an anti climax but well worth the read.

I am a great fan of Selena Montgomery's and read all of her work voraciously. This weekend I re-read Hidden Sins. The author's ability to weave romance in with suspense and include anthropology and numerology just to keep us facinated is wonderful. Whether you are a romance lover or a lover of suspense novels, this book never gets dull.

I was never one to read a romance novel, but Mara and Ethan made me fall in love with the mysterious plot to this storyline. This too is my first Selena Montgomery books, and I can definitely say that I will be reading more.

I just wanted to commend "Hidden Sins." This is the first book of Selena's that I've read and must honestly say that I rank this as one of my top 5 (and I've read my fair share of books). The way the plot was pulled together and romance was incorporated was just great. The book (like many others I've read) didn't seem to be rushed and at the end I didn't find myself feeling that it hadn't truly come to a close!
