Oona was the One, August 28, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Hidden Star: Oona O'Neill Chaplin : A Memoir (Hardcover)
I read Hidden Star in London, and I was taken and saddened by the story of Oona O'Neill Chaplin. She never got to fullfill her dreams, and lived through others. I wish Patrice Chaplin could get ahold of Oona's journals; maybe that could've given us a view of her world

A Quiet, Solid Presence for Others, March 18, 2011
This review is from: Hidden Star: Oona O'Neill Chaplin : A Memoir (Hardcover)
I'm glad no one got a hold of her journals! Those would have been for her and her alone. Why must we endlessly dissect each other and rip each other apart? Oona loved her man and raising their children. Chaplin meant the world to her, and Oona was a constant source of stability and love for Charlot.
A successful marriage. Beautiful children. She was happy until her husband passed away. Her children knew it, and so did her friends.
She had a happy life and meant a lot to those who loved her.
This book did not do Oona justice in my opinion.
