I was going to order Hidden Treasures from Amazon a couple of months ago, but I changed my mind after reading the bad reviews that were posted there. Then, when placing another Amazon order recently, I wanted to add something to my order to get me to the $35 minimum so I would qualify for FREE shipping. I immediately thought of the Hidden Treasures book and reasoned that I would rather have something for my money than just paying the shipping fee. And, I thought--who knows?--the book might turn out to be helpful to me in some ways, even if it wasn't that good, so I ordered it.

I have now read the entire book and was pleasantly surprised! It is not perfect. It did take a little patience to get through the beginning, since the first character scenario seemed quite far-fetched. But, most books do take a while to develop, so I stuck with it. Glad I did! It gives more visual and real images of how to accomplish all of the things that are part of the Fly Lady system and illustrates why and how they work. While I understand the ideas, I don't always know how to apply them to my life or where to begin. When I look at the mess around me, it is all just so overwhelming! The fictional characters in this book are in the same situation, and they also struggle to apply the methods suggested in the book because they have trouble believing that such small things can really make a difference. But, being desperate, they finally agree to give it a try, even if just to prove it WON'T work!

For me, believing that the simplicity of the Fly Lady system could really work for my situation was a great Leap of Faith.

I am loving this book already after only 30 pages. I just shined my sink and set the coffee up for tomorrow morning. My 86 year old Mom went in for a 45 minute out patient surgery on Dec. 6th and has been in the hospital ever since. If I wasn't blessed with the best husband in the world I would be a basket case by now. I know I can declutter 15 minutes at a time starting tomorrow.

Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end!

I have read this book and would recommend it to ALL FLYbabies or anyone in general. It is a wonderfully written story. If you have ever struggled as a FLYbaby, you will completely identify with this book! It has funny parts, parts that will make you cry, all while lovingly bringing you back to how and why to FLY. As a FLYbaby myself, I hope everyone gets a copy and then gives another to friends.

Amazing! The way it's written, you feel so connected to the characters. Ultimately inspiring. Thanks for the great read - incidentally the first book I've finished in around two years though I have many "cluttering" up my beside table.

This book is well written. I was inspired and took away some ideas to incorporate into my routine at home and work. It's very sweet and would make an excellent gift for a young mother and homemaker. 5 stars!

Most of the other reviews of this book are written by people following the FlyLady system, and they clearly love this book and relate to the characters. For those of us who are not familiar with the system, it may not be enough to lead us to the website or how-to book that it promotes, particularly if you work outside of the home or you are single and childless or you're pretty organized to start with (or at least not living in piles of clutter and going around with stained, mismatched clothes like the characters in this book). Maybe because I'm not a member of the website, it was hard for me to tell how long the characters spent on each step of their home makeover before adding new steps. Considering how much clutter they seemed to have, it seemed like they cleaned it up really fast and then were never tempted to go out buying more clutter after that. It certainly seems that the system worked for them and for many of the people reviewing this book, so maybe it's worth checking out.

As a novel, it's okay. I usually enjoy books with dual plot lines and narrators, but for most of this novel I felt the two main characters were virtually the same person with the same situation. This made the dual plot line seem unnecessary and repetitive, and it made it really hard for me to care about the character who is reading the diary. (Britney? Courtney? I don't even remember her name.) For most of the book I felt that the diary on its own would make a better book. I found the gossipy neighbor to be an unbelievable and outdated cliche, and while I liked Susan and would like to believe that there are people out there who, upon running into an acquaintance, will drop everything to become that person's mentor and instant best friend, I've never encountered one in real life.

After downloading onto my Kindle, I breezed right through this lovely story and it helped me jump right back into my FLYlady routines (just in time to bring a little order into my home for the holidays). I love the way FLYlady routines free up more time for peace and enjoyment of family and friends. Thank you to the author for sharing 2 lovely FLYlady success stories.
