Book Description

Hidden Travel April 2003
From the many national parks - including Bryce, Zion, and Canyonlands - to the mountains that encircle Salt Lake City, this guidebook explores all corners of this immensely popular western state. No place is too remote for Hidden Utah, not even Dead Horse Point State Park, an isolated island mesa 6,000 feet above sea level surrounded by cliffs, buttes, and towering spires.

5.0 out of 5 stars A superbly presented, full-spectrum travel guide., January 4, 2001
Hidden Utah adds to an inviting series, surveying less traveled hidden spots in Utah and providing keys to scenic drives, lesser-covered parks, Indian reservations and fossil quarries, and plenty of outdoors activities. Any considering a visit to Utah will find Hidden Utah packed with ideas from culinary adventures to hiking.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The book is fine as a background information, but we found it insufficient and a bit scattered in its attempt to cover so many places. It completely lacked to mention any price ranges on hotels (luckily we had the AAA travel book with us), and failed to put pertinent information about a specific location in an organized and easy to find way.

5.0 out of 5 stars From walking tours and resorts to indian reservations, February 15, 2001
From walking tours and resorts to indian reservations and dinosaur quarries, Hidden Utah is an invaluable, "user friendly" guide to all beauty, diversity, and recreational resources that Utah has to offer.

Wedged into a notch high on the cliff, blending in so completely with the buff-colored sandstone that it's unnoticeable except from certain angles and under certain light conditions, the cliff dwelling is a testament to a people long gone from southern Utah's canyon-riddled landscape. Read the first page
