This is a neat toy. My 6 yr. old could handle it well, but not the 4 yr. old. One drawback is the first red light, which is supposed to tell you the tiger is in that room, is not accurate. Any table lamp and many electric plugs turn the first light on. So you have to take that with a grain of salt. Only when you start getting multiple lights do you know you are on the right track. Another thing is the tiger is much larger than I expected and the sensor on its stomach has to be exposed for it to work. Result is my younger one looked visually for the tiger instead of using the wand and quite often found it because she could see it. We have only used it a few times, so I can't speak to how well it will hold up.

I can't understand the good reviews on this toy it works horrible. The lights flicker all the time so you don't know what's going on with the wand and to find the tiger you must be 6 inches from it. There is no way a child with a short attention span could like this toy let a lone one who is patient because the wand doesn't light correctly. I tried new batteries and tried it outdoors and it just doesn't work like it says it should.

This product is rated 4 and up. My two year old loves this toy just as much as my almost 4 year old. We have two sets as they ended up being cheaper to buy two sets instead of one set and a wand. The concept is simple. Hide the tiger and use the wand to find the tiger.
The wand has 5 possible light areas and if you are far from the toy it will show one light as you get closer and are going in the right direction more lights light up. Once you are in close vicinity to the toy it makes an annoying beeping noise. My 2 year old has no clue how to read the wand but she will wonder the house until she hears the beeping noise and then tear everything apart until she finds the tiger jumping up and down all excited. My almost 4 year old has the concept to the point and the 5 year old we babysit has no problems following the wand to the toy.
The responses on this toy is "Absolutely the best toy ever" (4 year old), "Too much fun and tiger is scary" (2 year old), "I need this toy at my house" (5 year old we babysat), and "it's hide and seek with noise" (husband). The kids love it I get a lot done as they are willing to take turns to see who hides it and so far it has worked well under blankets ( only let them partially cover it) In bathrooms with the door partly open and on different levels of the house. I highly recommend this toy and I can see why it won so many awards!!!! (the tiger does look mean and is hard like the normal jungle plastic figurines. He has been thrown, dropped, fell down the stairs and is still ticking. I will update my review in 6 months to let you know how well it has held up. Hope this helps!

This toy is a lot of fun. I love it because I can hide it and go about my household chores while my child is hunting it. It beats the heck out of me sitting in the closet waiting for her to find me for 20 minutes. Just remember to turn off the wand and the tiger. I can not remember how many times we turned off one and not the other after play. It will wear a battery down right quick.

I purchased this toy as a Christmas gift for my children. I purchased an extra wand too, unfortunately you can not use both wands at the same time because they interfere with each other and do not work correctly. Despite that, my children will play with one wand, one will hide while the others will hunt together, taking turns using the wand. After several hunts the tigers head fell off, we glued it back together and it still works. We were a little disappointing on the lack of durability, but the game idea is great and a lot of fun.

You just have to hide the tiger and look for it with the stick. We haven`t had any problems with not finding the animal- i haven`t buried it under thick blankets etc, so can`t comment on that, but it does pick up the signal very well! (it also does get 'confused' near power outlets, but you just have to be aware of that and not go poking there- who would hide it in one of these things anyway? :D).

all our guests have had super-happy-fun time with it as well- favorite toy!recommend.

Cute game that gets them playing together and taking turns and Mom can get something done. Easy for them to play on their own.

I don't understand how children can have hours of fun with this toy. First we purchased the Hide and Seek Monkey. The LED lights would not go off until we were practically on top of the toy. I thought it was the specific one we received so I tried again. This time we purchased the Tiger. Same thing happened. The lights would not go on until you were 5 feet away. My son is 4 and has a great attention span but was bored to tears. I couldn't hide the Tiger under a pillow because it would block the signal. We couldn't hide it in cabinets. It just didn't work.

My daughter loves tigers and playing hide and seek, but this just didn't hit home like I had hoped. She's 7 and played with it for about three days, maybe 10 minutes each time. Then, it was over. I think it just depends on the child. There's nothing at all wriong with the toy itself.

Bought the monkey version for my grandsons, and my neice saw it and requested it as an idea for her three boys for Christmas present. The age range for the boys is 2yrs to 7yrs and they all love it. Got them this tiger version. Nice that it can be played with inside in the inclement weather, then outside during nice weather. Very versatile and not a problem taking turns, as I ordered the set of extra wands so even 2 can find while one hides. Very recommended. Nicely packaged for gift giving.
