5.0 out of 5 stars Hide Clyde!
This is a really cute book about a chameleon for young children. It has rhyme and is fun and irresistable! I think it is great fun.

The artwork is lovely but the rhyme seemed forced and a bit abrupt at the end. Try Leo Lionni's, A Color of his own or Eric Carle's, Mixed Up Chameleon for a better story.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's just how you do it., June 3, 2006
This review is from: Hide, Clyde! (Hardcover)
At first glance I was not very impressed with this but I gave it a chance. My three-year-old twin girls kept asking for it--every night. Yes, one reviewer said the rhyme scheme seems forced. You can't let yourself force it to fit; an equal number of syllables in each sentence is really not necessary for good rhyming. You just have to work it. The illustrations are very cohesive to my girls' taste (Pixar-ish)and the colors are VIBrant! My library book is due back in a week and I HAVE to buy this one...
