The book's cover is labeled with the word "Cabins." You'll be highly disappointed if you are looking for cabins in the traditional use of the word. These are multi-million dollar cabins set in beautiful settings but are far from the word "cabin" that I am used to. Although the print quality and images are beautiful, had I been able to see a few interior pages, I would not have purchased this book online.

If you dream of getting out of society to a house nestled in the great outdoors, this book is a beautiful collection of inspiration. More of an art book than a building guide, such as Your Cabin in the Woods, you are sure to be impressed by the gorgeous image quality and international survey of ideas. There's a garage that was turned into a glass house, a mobile sauna, and an egg-like shelter inspired by the architecture of nomadic people that make this book a must-see!

Thought this was going to be more secluded cabins and hideouts but it's mostly super expensive architects homes.

Should be called cabins for millionaires. the pictures are beautiful however they are very limited for each property and there are no floor plans. Most of the structures are architectural experiments cost 100s of thousands of dollars to build. I was disappointed in that aspect of the books. There more practical books such as Huts and Hideaways and others that fill this need much better. But if yo are looking for a coffee table books this might work for you. For practical ideas no.

Elegantly illustrated and cleanly designed. Astounding structures in magnificent settings. Not much text, but the pictures make up for it … almost. If you've ever wanted to build a place in the country or simply fantasize about doing so, get this book.

I gave the book to my husband for Father's Day and it's a beautiful coffee table book. We've enjoyed flipping through it for ideas. The only complaint I have is that the printing on the binding of the book is upside down. It will look strange sitting on a coffee table OR on a book shelf. I'm a bit OCD about these things though :)

I do not share the opinion of some of the reviewers who criticize that some of the shown examples are buildings just for millionaires. So what? The buildings are rare examples of creative architecture and in my opinion the true value of the book ist to show the harmony and in the same time tension between buildings and the natural landscape around them. Unfortunately drawings of the creative process and blueprints or plans are missing, so it is sometimes difficult to imagine the flow of space inside the buildings.
