Excellent, a wonderful story with a captivating setting,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Hideaway (Paperback)
Kelly Taylor ldiscovers she has been linked to a murder and the only man who can help her is the sheriff. He was once her boyfriend and the town bad boy, but now he's wearing a badge. They were once lovers, but are now enemies who have to work together to slove the crime As the story unfolds, a cast of wonderful, well-developed charaters emerges, including a sexy, mysterious man who just might be the killer--or give her an alibi. We discover Kelly can't remember the night of the murder or clear her name because someone slipped Rolhypnol (the date rape drug) into her drink. This story has a red herring villain who is so bad that you love to hate him and all the plot twists Meryl is known for. You're going to love this book.

I really like this author,

This review is from: The Hideaway (Paperback)
The hideaway is just another great read from Meryl Sawyer. It is filled with suspense, lots of sex, compassion, untold secrets, murder, greed, and so much more. It is a good light hearted read. Even the identity of the killer is a surprise and that is rare to find in murder mysteries. In my book, if an author can surprise me, she deserves 5 stars.
Meryl Sawyer definitely has a way of making the reader connect with her characters. You'll find yourself remembering them long after the book has gone back on the shelf.

A great story,

I picked up this book because I first read Tempting Fate which I might add is a must read. If I like a book then I continue to read more from same author... I was not disappointed. Zach is a little cocky but he needed to be with Claire. I enjoyed how he tried to protect her even when she wouldn't be seen with him. By the way, I didn't know that animals can be treated as badly as some mentioned in this book. That breaks my heart and only hope this is not real, I love animals. Claire's love for animals grabbed my heart and Zach's love for Claire grabbed my throat. I am glad everyone in this story got their just desserts. I definitely recommend this one.

This was the book that made me fall in love with Meryl Sawyer's writting! These characters were so wonderful and fascinating. I couldn't put this book down until I finished it. I have recommended it to so many people and they all say the same thing. "Wow, what a great book. Do you have any others by this author?" I have read three others and I recommend all of them. (Tempting Fate, Half Moon Bay, Last Night) I can't wait to read her others and I hope to be reading many new ones in the future.

Unforgettable characters, an unforgettable romance!,

Meryl Sawyer writes characters and life people can relate to. I couldn't put Hideaway down. Her suspense was superb. A page turner! I wasn't sure I'd like the female lead character, at first, but Meryl didn't disappoint me; I soon related to her and couldn't wait to watch her change into the woman I knew Meryl intended. Zach, the hero, is to die for. Whew! I'm in love with that man.

Disappointment,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Hideaway (Paperback)
This is the worst of Meryl Sawyer's books I've read so far. The characters are flat and the story line not credible. The first half of the book drags, while Sawyer rushed to finish off the book in the second half. A big disappointment.

I recently found Meryl Sawyer, and I can't get enough of her books. This one is wonderful.
Claire Holt is a gallery owner. She has lived her life as the banker's daughter. Her mother was killed while leaving town with Jake Coulter, They were killed in a car accident. claire has lived her life hating Jake for taking her mother away and she has blamed herself for the last 12 years. Zach Coulter has returned to town to serve as sheriff. After serving as a detective in the SFPD. He is strongly affected by Claire but tries to stay away from her. However, a murder takes place at the Hideaway on a night Claire is there and she was given a date rape drug. Now Zach must find a killer to protect Claire and prove she did not kill her major rival. With more plot twists than you can count and so many characters involved, this has to be one of my favorite Sawyer books. Don't miss it.

The characters and the setting kept me interested until the end. Great insight into Zach and Claire's personalities. Sawyer has the capacity to bring the readers into the minds and thoughts of her characters. One of my favorites along with A Kiss in the Dark.
