All of these books were good. The first book is about Martin Cole and Parris Simmons. Parris was in an abusive marriage and is now divorced. She's living her dream, until one night her ex-husband shows up. The drama unfolds and Parris finds herself at the mercy of Martin Cole. Martin Cole was attracted to Parris the moment he saw her and chose to ignore her brush off,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Overall OK Read
The book was a good read. I thought the first story about Martin Cole and Parris was great. However, the story about Matthew and Eve was not good at all. The only thing that I thought was really nice about this story is the background information on the Mexican culture. I thought that was definitely a plus. I have to admit that to see books written about the blending of...

This review is from: Hideaway Saga (Arabesque) (Paperback)
All of these books were good. The first book is about Martin Cole and Parris Simmons. Parris was in an abusive marriage and is now divorced. She's living her dream, until one night her ex-husband shows up. The drama unfolds and Parris finds herself at the mercy of Martin Cole. Martin Cole was attracted to Parris the moment he saw her and chose to ignore her brush off, being the persistant man he is, he ends up saving her life. The drama doesn't stop here, during their relationship they will find themeselves faced with all kinds of problems. Will their love be enough to see theme through? The second book is about Matt Sterling, a handsome tough as nails type man. Hired to find the son of Eve Blackwell, a woman that turns him on, Matt is faced with one of the toughest jobs he'll face. As love blooms and secrets are discovered, will Matt be able to save himself, Eve, and her son? The thrid book is about Vanessa Blanchard and Joshua Kirkland. Joshua working under cover has been asigned to follow Vanessa, a women he believes is selling government secrets. As Joshua gets close to Vanessa he begins to fall for her, and she for him. Will Joshua be able to keep a level head and do his job or will his attraction over power his good scense?

5.0 out of 5 stars A DYMANITE OF A SERIES, June 21, 2004
By
This review is from: Hideaway Saga (Arabesque) (Paperback)
Hideaway tells the story of Martin Cole and Paris, Hidden Agenda tells the story of Matt and Eve (who are friends of the Cole family), and Vows is the story of Vanessa and Joshua Kirkland (Josh is Martin's half-brother).

Rochelle Alers is a dynamite author. I recommend all of her books, if I were you I would read them in order before attempting to read as you get them otherwise you find yourself starting from the beginning working on back.

It took me ten months to complete this series now that I have them completed I have gone back and started from the beginning and read through and I can say I greatly appericated the writing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good start to an enjoyable series, October 18, 2006
This review is from: Hideaway Saga (Arabesque) (Paperback)
Enjoyable read, suspend reality everyone falls in love at the drop of a hat-lol. Best story; Vows - 5 stars, Hidden Agenda - 4.5 stars, Hideaway -3 stars. Why Samuel and MJ hated Parris so much never made sense (even after reading Best kept Secrets) and as for what Samuel did his son let him off very lightly..
My only concern is the timeline, by the time we get into the series the heroines and heros in this saga become grandparents as their kids grow up, fall in love and have kids so when was everyone born? The main characters age from 20-40 somethin in this book.
After reading this and Best kept secrets there is no way these people were born in the 1920's and 1930's not with the mention of all the modern technology in the book - cds, satelitte dishes, Nintendo and also famous business people like B Gates etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Personal, December 14, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Hideaway Saga (Arabesque) (Paperback)
I never knew anything like this saga existed. I have passed this book on to many of my co-workers who have fell madly in love with Martin-Parris, Matt-Eve and Joshua=Vanessa as I did. Martin was the man...I had to keep going back to there story....Matt was the man....Eve blew his mind....Joshua had me dizzy.....l especially loved the way he came back into Vanessa's life after he was healed.
Ms. Alers.....GOD has truly blessed you. Your story telling has me constantly looking for your books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Series, May 2, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Hideaway Saga (Arabesque) (Paperback)
I have owned all three books that are in the Hideaway Series for years. They are excellent. It really is good to read these three to get a feel for the entire series. Vows and Hidden Agenda are personal favorites, and Hideaway, which is also very good, is what started it all. Hideaway tells the story of Martin Cole and Paris, Hidden Agenda tells the story of Matt and Eve (who are friends of the Cole family), and Vows is the story of Vanessa and Joshua Kirkland (Josh is Martin's half-brother).

Rochelle Alers is a fantastic author. I would recommend all of her books, but start with these if you are planning to read any other in this series.

What can I say? Rochelle has yet to disappoint me in the things she's written. I truly enjoyed the Hideway Saga and this after not reading a romance novel in over 20 years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Work, October 5, 2005

This review is from: Hideaway Saga (Arabesque) (Paperback)
Having these three stories in one book was like a gift each time I began a new story. They were so much fun I found myself sad, excited, on the edge of my seat and mad along with each of the ladies in the stories. Yes I am a hopeless romantic but where would this world be with love. Please do enjoy these stories and trust me when I say you won't go wrong. I feel like the last person on earth to have discovered such jewels.

I MUST SAY THAT MY PERSONAL FAVORITE WAS THE SECOND STORY ABOUT MATHEW STERLING AND EVE BLACKWELL BUT THAT'S PROBABLY B/C I LOVE "BAD BOY TURNED GOOD" STORIES. FUN AND OFFERS BACKGROUND IF YOU'RE LIKE ME AND STARTED AT THE END OF THE SERIES.

The book was a good read. I thought the first story about Martin Cole and Parris was great. However, the story about Matthew and Eve was not good at all. The only thing that I thought was really nice about this story is the background information on the Mexican culture. I thought that was definitely a plus. I have to admit that to see books written about the blending of cultures -- Cuban, African, African-American and Native American was wonderful as I know people with that mixture myself. The heros just seemed similar in appearance. Except for Joshua, I thought that Martin Cole and Matthew Sterling could easily be brothers.
