One of the best books ever. It reads like a story and is captivating, while at the same time not only teaches about forgiveness, but inspires us to forgive. If anyone is suffering from bitterness about something that happened to them in the past (probably everyone), they should read this book. It is also historical... teaches about the love of God... Among others, every new Christian should read this as well as Through Gates of Splendor by Elizabeth Elliott and many other Christian and missionary biographies such as Hudson Taylor, etc.
