Study Guide was Helpful
I purchased the study Guide for 'The Hiding Place' because I was reading the book over a period of several weeks and meeting to discuss it with a group of middle school girls. The study guide did a good job of summarizing the historical setting of the book and giving me some ideas for questions to generate discussion. Since my group does not have an academic goal in...

I purchased the study Guide for 'The Hiding Place' because I was reading the book over a period of several weeks and meeting to discuss it with a group of middle school girls. The study guide did a good job of summarizing the historical setting of the book and giving me some ideas for questions to generate discussion. Since my group does not have an academic goal in discussing the book, many of the questions about vocabulary definitions were not applicable to us.

One of the other reviewers indicated that this book is a novel, it is not! it was a true story, about a very brave Dutch family during WWII. It's the story of the only one who survived, and her devout belief in Jesus Christ, and how her faith carried her thru a horrible time, and sustained her. She was not young when she entered a concentration camp, and was 52 when she left. Her entire life before and after her time in a concentration camp, was a true testimony to God. I'm sure when she died in the early 80's God greeted her with a huge hug, and said "WELL DONE GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT"!
