5.0 out of 5 stars Tangled Webs
Claudia Brown Mosley's latest offering, "Hiding in the Shadows" is a complicated mystery, full of real-life suspense and juicy drama. This book epitomizes the term, "What's done in the dark, always finds it's way to the light."

This book comes highly recommended for those who love urban fiction with a twist.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Haunting Past, January 6, 2010

Tracy is a successful businesswoman who just needs an equally accomplished man at her side. She thinks she found the perfect man when Edmund comes into the picture. Edmund is a successful attorney that seems to have it all together. But Tracy doesn't know that Edmund is running away from his sordid past. When somebody from Edmund's past seeks revenge, Tracy and Edmund may both be in danger.

Hiding in the Shadows is an interesting novel by Claudia Brown Mosley. Mosley brought a story with a good mix of characters and situations. When reading this story, you'll wonder who is stalking Edmund and why. All of the elements of a good mystery were present in this story but the execution of it was lacking. While it is revealed who is stalking Edmund and why, there's no explanation for his past and present behavior. By the end of the novel, you'll still be left with unanswered questions. There should have been more "meat" in this story to make it a better crafted book. Hiding in the Shadows is still a decent novel by Claudia Brown Mosley.

Edmund fox, look's like a model who just walk out of any magazines, a prominent lawyer with everything going for him. But in his closet he has a back ground that you wouldn't believe. Tracy comes into edmund life and she things he the right man for her but what she don't know is that his past is getting ready to come back to hunt him, and she will be there to see it and what all he has done to women over his life time. This was a very good read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hiding in the Shadows Lurks a Stalker, February 22, 2009
This review is from: Hiding in The Shadows (Peace In The Storm Publishing Presents) (Paperback)
Edmund Fox, looking like he just walked off the cover of GQ magazine, not only has the looks but he is a high profile lawyer that is ruthless in the courtroom. Known as a ladies' man, he has gone through more women than he can count. Even at the mention of a relationship he gets nervous. But when he meets Tracy Silver, the boss of her own thriving company Butterfly Electronics, he thinks he is ready to change his ways.

Tracy is a little wary herself of getting involved with Edmund, being that she has had some bad experiences with lying, cheating men in the past. She is just content on being single, but there is no denying the attraction between her and Edmund. She thinks that maybe Edmund just might be "the one."

Someone is lurking...and wants Edmund dead. The question is who; who is playing mind games with him and why do they want him dead? Could it be a disgruntled client's spouse? Or could it be one of the many women he has screwed along the way? Will he figure it out? Or will he be too late?

HIDING IN THE SHADOWS by Claudia Brown Mosley was one of those books that you won't want to put down. It will have you constantly turning the pages to find out what is going to happen next. It's an on the edge of your seat type read. Although a few parts may be a little predictable, the story was well written and still held my attention and I thought it was an excellent read. I look forward to reading more by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Scandalous, February 9, 2009
This review is from: Hiding in The Shadows (Peace In The Storm Publishing Presents) (Paperback)
Twelve years prior, Edmund Fox, never bargained what would happen after his senior year in H.S. by dating a girl who is not as popular or well-known, to succumb to his lustful needs. Prom night, his date had all the intentions on saving her virginity for marriage, but all plans failed. He flips the script on her, after ignoring her calls, and lets her have it, that if she did not want to do it, she would have not come prepared (condoms).

Afterwards, we label most men as "dirty dogs", but most women are giving up the goodies too soon in the relationship with nothing to treasure later. Like some emotionally-estranged girls, she takes sleeping pills to kill herself; although she survives this endeavor she was labeled a Mania-Fever mental case.

Years later, she keeps up with Edmund's successes twelve years later, in what she calls her "Edmund Shine Scrapbook" and journal about their past life. The mental-thoughts that some women play and meditate in their minds...these types of women are hiding in the shadows.

Moreover, this book is about a woman, who becomes obsessed with the dream of having a man of her wildest dreams. Dreams can be deadly. Besides Edmund Fox eventually finding love, once Tracy discovered his darkest secret coming to the light, he treated her body like a piece of meat, to tame his sexual urges.

What a spell-binding whirlwind of suspense in such a romance thriller! I have not read a good urban fiction book by a female writer in ages (besides Jean Holloway with "Ace of Hearts"), this is one of the best books I read in 2009! Hope to see a sequel.
