You won't miss Basia a bit on this extraordinary effort by Matt Bianco. Unlike some of their earlier works, this CD is a bit more sophisticated and adult than some earlier efforts. It takes a few listens to fully appreciate this effort, but by the third time, you can't get these songs out of your head. In particular, I find myself lying awake at night unable to stop humming these four - Anna-Marie, That's the Way I Like It, Someone Else's Dream and Always on my Mind. For the lover of elegant, sophisticated jazz-pop-Brazilian influenced Matt Bianco - this one is magnificent.

I've been a fan of MB ever since their first album more than 20 years ago (with Basia, no less). Hifi Bassanova is one heck of a CD. Every song simply rocks. My favorite is Don't Look Back and the new rendition of the older tune Lost In You. This is certainly one of the group's best efforts. You will not be disappointed.

It's party time as a fantastic new release from Matt Bianco hits my CD player! Hi Fi Bossanova is an intoxicating cocktail of Brazilian musical styles blended with pure pop finesse. This is fun in the sun!! Every track shines from the totally hip title track Hi Fi Bossanova to the infectious The way I Like It.
Matt Bianco is, as always, the perfect party jump start. I can't wait for the next instalment, perhaps a Live CD or even better a DVD of the band.

I've been a big fan of Matt Bianco after discovering that Basia originated with them. This latest cd is very 60ish latin Brazilian pop contemporary music. A little like Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 but updated and very enjoyable. I've been listening to it over and over. Can't wait until Matt Bianco can come out with another cd just as good or better.

Matt Bianco's "Hi Fi Bossa Nova" is everything Sergio Mendez and Brazil 66 should have been but never became! Truly! Mark Reilly, (mister Matt Bianco himself), and Mark Fisher, (his keyboard compadre through most of this almost 30 year career), have captured something no one else has pulled off...a CD full of wonderfull uptempo hit songs with an authentic Brazilian Samba feel. If you're a fan of the magic groove that was born in Rio De Janiero back in the 50's and 60's and you love great pop music, then you've just found the motherload with this release! Even hearing the 30 second samples on Amazon a few times will hook you.

I love Matt Bianco (somehow many people love the original Matt Bianco with Basia, but I prefer Mark&Mark), and have been waiting for their new CD, and this CD does what a Matt Bianco fan expects. Not really innovative (in the sense that not so different from their previous albums in terms of approach: Latin+Jazz+Pop) but always stylish music with Latin flavor. Since there is a female singer who is also featured, this album gives me a similar impression as their album: Gran Via. Probably it's not going to be a commercial success (except for Japan, and some European countries), but if you have been a fan of Mark&Mark, you'll enjoy it.

I've always somewhat enjoyed the Matt Bianco Sound, but hoped their was more Bossa Nova........and less of the commercial sound.(especially with a Title like Hi-Fi Bossa Nova!)
