A Kenny Classic....,
By A Customer
This review is from: High Adventure (Audio CD)
I bought this album many years ago when it first came out..Saw his "High Advenure" Concert. It is by far a classic. There should be no track skipping on this one. Steve Perry joins Kenny with "Don't Fight it" truly an amazing concert. Not many stick with me as long as this one has... Top Drawer.

A Definite Adventure,

This album is extremely under rated. More people need to realize that there is more to Kenny Loggins than just Soundtrack Songs. This album is very enjoyable and shows you that he can in fact write very good songs. The track "Heart To Heart" is amazing and not played enough, in fact neither of the other two singles from this album are played much either: "Don't Fight It (which is a duet with THEN Journey frontman Steve Perry)" and "Welcome To Heartlight". Give this album a listen. If you don't enjoy it you have my permission to return to Footloose, Top Gun and Pooh Corner.(if you prefer that route)

One of his Best,

Ever since I heard "Celebrate Me Home," I was a Kenny Loggins fan. (I was a bit too young to be aware of his songs with Jim Messina). I have every one of his albums and continue to see where he goes as an artist.
His music still reflects life and love's ups and downs so I would also recommend his recent CDs offered along with "High Adventure" on amazon. But "High Adventure" was a great album when it came out in 1982. I fell in love with "Don't Fight It" as much as I loved "I'm Alright" from CADDYSHACK two years before, never getting tired of playing those songs over and over again. Steve Perry from Journey was a perfect choice to sing that one with Kenny. There're also great collaborations with Michael McDonald, who co-wrote three of the songs: "Only a Miracle," "Heart to Heart," and "I Gotta Try," which you can also find Michael's version on his 1982 CD, "If That's What It Takes." Great music and enduring memories!

Don't Fight It - This One's Great!,

I bought this when it was first released on vinyl. I wore that out and I'm probably close to wearing out my newer CD of it. I'm trying to think of which songs to mention as standouts - but it's hard to pick just a few. I'll try anyway. LOL "Swear Your Love" should have been a big hit. The song totally rocks! Another favorite here is "Only A Miracle." It's one of my favorite ballads by Kenny. If you're a Kenny fan and you don't have this album - get it ASAP. You're missing out on some great stuff!

High Adventure is a must for any Loggins fan. Kenny really seems to have a lot of fun with this one. Steve Parry (Journey) Joins Kenny in "Don't Fight it" and the music just keeps on coming until it's all over (No track skipping with this one) It's all one big adventure, Lead by Kenny.

I also purchased this album when it first came out and is still my favorite Loggins album. While all the tracks on this album are great, "Swear Your Love" is exceptional (a truly rocking song!) as is "Don't Fight It" with Steve Perry. Sadly most of these songs have never made it onto the Greatest Hits albums, but are well worth listening to. I would recommend to any Loggins fan. Enjoy!

Great Westcoast Pop from Kenny Loggins,

Classic album one of Kenny's best. From the hard driven "Don't Fight It" with Steve Perry to the Michael McDonald-Loggins-David Foster classic "Heart to Heart" to "Only a Miracle written upon the birth of Kenny's first child Crosby who is now an up and coming singer himself.

The most memorable songs from this album are DON'T FIGHT IT which marks the solo debut of Journey frontman Steve Perry in a duet with Kenny Loggins. Also I GOTTA TRY written by Loggins and his close friend ex-Doobie Brother Michael McDonald. McDonald also recorded the track for his solo debut IF THAT'S WHAT IT TAKES. HEARTLIGHT was also a Top 20 hit. The other songs are good.

Kenny's peak,

This has been one of my all-time favorite albums - chock full of great performances and high production values. Every song is a classic, from the Doobie influenced "I gotta try" to the achingly beautiful "The more we try". Mr. Loggins is in great voice - sometimes sounding like Stephen Bishop. Add this to your collection - it deserves a hall of fame nomination!
