Product Description

This book is a collection of advice from Ashley, the Autism mom from HiddenRecovery.com, a chronicle of her son's journey from birth to recovery and normal life. Ashley's advice is geared towards high functioning children with PDD-NOS, Asperger's, and mainstreamed children with Autism. Ashley provides both therapeutic and biomedical treatment advice.

Social skills, Mainstreaming, ABA-NET, Theory of Mind, Executive Functioning, and Abstract Thinking are explained in detail. Ashley shares the social skills activities she did at home with Leo.

Some of the topics covered are: How to select a school program, find therapists, start an ABA program, manage your child s diet and supplements, how to get therapy paid for, and tips on managing your overall therapy program.

Ashley shares biomedical treatment strategies for diets, detox, chelation, bioSET, homeopathy, herbs, and other alternative approaches. Ashley discusses the impact of Autism on parents, her perspective on recovery and the state of our children's health after 10 years living in the Autism world.

From the Author

I hope you find my book helpful.  I really enjoyed putting my thoughts together into one place for parents.  It was a very joyful, healing, experience.  Leo likes the fact that what he went through helps others like him and their parents.
In health and healing, Ashley

This review is from: High Functioning Autism: Advice From A Mom, From Diagnosis To Recovery (Kindle Edition)
If you are confused about your child's diagnosis you get anxious, you panic, you start reading obsessively and ... you get even more anxious and confused. This book can save you emotional turmoil, time and money. You have to stick to something, you have to have a plan. As I understand the author of the book did extensive research and exhausted every single opportunity to help her child... and it worked. In a very concise manner Ashley Morgan shares what she learned. The book leaves all the details to Ashley's website. Almost every chapter mentions a link. This way she accomplishes 2 things: the info in the book stays up to date and the reader concentrates on only the most important messages. Autism doctors are very expensive, so one needs to choose carefully and have some tools to evaluate doctor's qualification. Ashley gives you a gift that only a mother can give. Read it!
