excellent but hard to read, March 8, 2000

This review is from: High-Functioning Individuals with Autism (Current Issues in Autism) (Hardcover)
This book reads like a college or medical textbook, but it is the best source I have found for information on autism in people who are not mentally retarded as well. It includes lots of details on typical symptoms in both children and adults and lots of first hand accounts from parents and individuals with autism. I found parts of it extemely helpful and parts way over my head. Worth checking the library for first, though, given the price.

Good Information, May 2, 2007
This review is from: High-Functioning Individuals with Autism (Current Issues in Autism) (Hardcover)
Although I expected this book to be newer, it nevertheless contained more relevant information re my child's specific level of ability than others I have come across. Somewhat technical in parts but worth having if your child is "almost" normal.
